Xen IA64
Hello,
Does Xen support IA64 ?
If not, is there a project to port Xen on IA64.
Best Regards.

Request to update slapd.conf and OpenLDAP info for Samba-Guide/happy.html
Dear Team,
The OpenLDAP stuff on this page:
http://us4.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/happy.html
is not the preferred backend, i.e. ldbm, it really, really needs to be bdb.
See:
http://www.openldap.org/faq/index.cgi?_highlightWords=bdb%20ldbm&file=1085
"ldbm uses a neutral storage interface which in principle could wrap dbm,
ndbm, gdbm or sleepycat as underlying storage;

OT: svn installation tutorial
Hello friendly Rails community,
I''m sorry for this OT post, I''ve just switched to Mac and as I see there
are so many friendly mac users here, may I ask is there another
good/nice Subversion installation tutorial instead of this one:
http://developer.apple.com/tools/subversionxcode.html?
Is there another way to install it without compiling Subversion by
myself? For example via

Xapian -need help!
Hi,
I do have few questions regarding xapine as I'm a newbie in this and
would appreciate if someone could give me some insight:
1: When I'm trying to index , why it creates/opens so many files,
e.g.this is how one of my index looks like:
% ~/xapian_index> ls
db_lock position_baseA record_DB termlist_baseA
meta postlist_DB record_baseA value_DB

/lib/tls.disabled or xen-friendly glibc?
Hi,
until now I have run Xen with /lib/tls out of the way for both dom0 and domU''s,
but now I''m trying to install OpenLDAP in a domU, which requires TLS as
default. So now I have at least three options ahead of me:
1. mv /lib/tls.disabled back to /lib/tls and accept the performance penalty (is
there any documentation on how heavy this penalty is?)
2. Compile OpenLDAP

Samba/LDAP documentation
List, documenters;
I'd like to exchange notes about the official Samba 3 LDAP doco.
I'd like to do this off list, since doing it on list would simply confuse
and confound users wit perfectly working systems.
Background:
Me, Samba relative newbie, though I can get *everything* Samba-orientated
to work simply by using umpteen years Unix experience. Many years as
Openldap admin. With

[DB] Using SQLite instead of AST?
Hello
The DB() application is fine as long as we don't need more than one
value pointed to by a key, ie. the way SleepyCat works.
Problem is, for each phone number, I'd like to map more than one
column, eg. name, e-mail, fax, etc.
Is there a way to have DB() use SQLite instead of AST, or a way to
keep both in sync (ie. export data from AST to SQLite automatically)?
Thank you.

[OT] SVN: Anybody use BDB?
I''m moving my Subversion repository to a new server. The old server uses
Berkeley DB/Sleepycat and if memory serves, it was a lot of effort to
set that up -- so I think I''ll try FSFS. Does anybody use BDB and prefer
that over FSFS? Or had any problems with FSFS? (I never had any problems
with BDB, performance or otherwise, btw.)
Thanks,
Joe

LDAP mailing list for ldapsam people
People,
I came to Samba 3 or 4 weeks ago and now have a successful ldapsam 3.0.11
PDC installation for 1150+ users (around 80 Win 2000 and XP workstations)
running together with a DHCP server as an "afterthought" service on a
RHAS3 NAS server.
I adopted/adapted my already existent Openldap (2.2.17) DSE at that site)
and wrote to this list about my experiences. For example I

Linking against a specific Berkeley DB install
I sent this question to the OpenLDAP list yesterday, but I still haven't
seen the message come across the list. I am asking here in the hopes of
getting a faster response.
I am trying to compile OpenLDAP 2.3.11 from source on CentOS4. I have the
rpm for db4-4.2.52-7.1 installed and also a source build of BerkeleyDB in
/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.4.
How do I get OpenLDAP to link with the bdb

Does Berkeley DB and Rails seem like a good match?
I''ve been reading up on Berkeley DB and I''ve been refelcting on the
Rails philosophy and it just seemed to me like the two should go
together hand in glove. Rails seeks to abstract the programer from
squirrely database coding which is great. My only problem is that
you''re still left with a large component, namely the databsase server
(MySQL, PostgreSQL..etc) which

installing Win32 Compilers
Installing MinGW32 together with msys-1.* and msysDTK was a breeze. I started
installing lccwin32, only to find problems with the library compilation in
the latter part of installation, with it hanging once it got to

native xml db for rails
Hey,
I''m an xmldb newb, as I expect most are since xquery only got nailed a
few months ago. I know nothing more than reading around the subject
and a couple of hours tinkering with sleepycats offering. Enough
though to make me realise the potential of an xml database though. I
dont really have a spare supercomputer to parse xml documents to
compete with a relational database on speed but it would have some
cool features.
Not being as familar with the activerecord source as I should be....

override/redefine asterisk DB function
Hi.
Is it possible to override the standard DB function in
Asterisk?
My dialplan contains a lot of calls to "Set(DB(...))"
and "${DB(...)} which of course use astdb to
store/read data. I would like to stop using astdb and
switch to Clustered MySQL (I don't suppose "clustered
astdb" exists?).
So instead of rewriting extensions.conf and replacing
the DB calls with

Where to find db1_dump185 in debian packages ?
Hello,
Here http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+database , you can read:
"Also, since it's a normal Berkely db1 (version185) file its contents can be
viewed/dumped with the standard *db1_dump185* tool. Thus db1_dump185 -p
/var/lib/asterisk/astdb will show the complete database tree."
Where can this db1_dump185 be found using Debian packages ?
