object class with STI and Polymorphic Assoc''s.
Hi, lets say I have a a table, "Linkings" that I am using for
polymorphic associations. One of the associations is to the "person"
table, and there are several other associations.
"Person" has 2 types, "slacker" and "suckup".
It is modelled as such:

SIP URI Dialplan?
I've got soft phone that allows me to dial SIP URI's. I'd like to
route these calls through a provider to be completed, because I'm
beind a NAT box and doing it directly doesn't work.
Right now I've got an extension defined like this:
Dial(IAX2/${FWDUSERID}:${FWDPASSWD}@${FWDSERVER}/**356<username>)
This will connect a call to FWD and call a user at FWD. It works

Mac Mini and chan_bluetooth, has anyone told The o if it works?
I googled on this for about an hour and the most relevant hit I got was, of
course, the first hit:
http://www.sowerbutts.com/linux-mac-mini/#support
In it, he indicates that the stock Bluetooth module "should work, but
untested" - he doesn't qualify the statement with anything. Has anyone tried
chan_bluetooth or even the Bluz stack on a Mini or a G5? If so, under Linux
or OSX?

Third time, is it a charm?
Okay sorry for the empty message bodies earlier problem with Outlook, I
guess is you have digital IDs as I do and they expire, even if you override
the signature option it clears all sent text....windows...mmmmph....
Anyway, what I was trying to relay to the group was that ZyXEL has come out
with a new Firmware (March 21, 2005) for the Prestige 2000W WiFi SIP Phone.
In my opinion it has made

Looking for a wireless phone... wifi ortraditional wireless ?
In that example you could make outgoing calls only correct? (since incoming
likely needs port forwards)
I guess the questions becomes "how often are you going to do that to justify
the extra $100 or so you going to pay for a wifi sip phone?"

SIP Dial between two IAX-connected boxes?
Hello,
I'm pretty new to asterisk (only been fighting with it on and off for
about the last month), so please go easy. I've been wrestling with the
documentation, forum posts, google, and my lack of telephony and VOIP
knowledge, trying to get my setup to work. My current problem has me
stumped saying, "There's gotta be a cleaner way to do this." Please

Sip.conf: domain=huh?
So I saw mention of a way to allow dialing using SIP URI's on Dave McNett's
site at http://slacker.com/~nugget/projects/asterisk/page7
Wow, awesome, I can call anywhere now. However, I think there is a more
elegant way of figuring out whether or not the local * server should handle
a given domain. Specifically, Dave compares a series of domains within
extensions.conf to figure out how to

where $permission$ is ignored by redcloth, so it doesnt affect the rendering
of wiki syntax -> html, but appears when you edit a page (perk for me would
to also have it not appear in the rendered html).
Why would anyone want this? Well, I am trying setup Instiki for my
association of slackers. Rather than have 2 wikis, one internal and one
external, I decided to create a plugin for Instiki to handle page
permissions. This is done through a series of filters combined with basic
auth, so Redcloth nor Instiki is directly changed.
My problem is having a $permission$ block in redcloth screw...

I think there really have been no commits since then:

We are all slackers and/or overworked. :-(
I did see your Stratus (sp?) patch, and it looks harmless and useful.
I have a lot on at the moment but I don't mind merging it when I or

winbind working... nis maps?
Hello Samba list!
I'm looking for quick verification that this will not work:
I already have a Gentoo workstation authenticating to a Windows ADS. I
can log in with my DOMAIN+username and it takes the domain password and
maps my uid into the proper range and all that good stuff. Samba is rad
like that.
However, I have a grip of various unix systems, and rather than spend

Resigning as lead of the Virt SIG

I wanted to let you know that I feel I need to step down as leader of the Virtualisation SIG. When I originally was approached by KB to do this, it was always clear that this would be a temporary thing until the SIG got going. At the time, only Xen and CentOS folks were involved with the SIG. Beginner couple of questions
Dear all,
I have some questions, I'm sure it's pretty stupid for most of you, but I need
you guys to help me. Here are my questions:
1. Music On Hold, it doesn't play any sound on the parked call or hold call.
But if I do ps-ax, it shows mpg123 .....( I forgot the exact line). I'm using
slackware 9.1
2. I have fxs 3 port, and in my zapata.conf I have included callpickup=1-4,

Can't get password policies (bad lockout attempt) to work on Samaba 3 + OpenLDAP
Hi,
I have a Debian stable (woody aka 3.0) machine. I am moving my
existing samba 2.x installation (that has users stored in smbpasswd)
to samba 3.0.4 with LDAP as the backend. I am able to move the users
to LDAP just fine. However, the password policy of bad lockout
attempt does not seem to work.
I installed the samba deb file from the samab.org site. I also have

OpenOffice.org 1.1.2 vs. 2.0.2
Hi,
I recently migrated from Slackware 10.2 to CentOS 4.3, upon advice of fellow
Slacker and CentOS user Daniel de Kok. Been working very intensively for the
last three weeks with it, and I must say: I really like it. This is the Real
Work(tm) Distro I was always looking for!
There's a practical reason for this: beginning on June 1st I will be chief
sysadmin of our village's town hall.

Introduction
Hi,
I'm a 40-year old sysadmin living in Montpezat, a small village in the
sunny south of France. I'm a Linux user since 2001, when I made my first
steps on a 486 with a Slackware 7.1 CD. I've tried maybe two dozen
distributions, but I've stayed mostly with Slackware and Debian.
Since last summer, I work as a sysadmin for our "Communaut? de
Communes", a group of 16
