Asterisk, IAX and NAT issue
Hi, I have two Asterisks identically installed on two computers. One of them is directly connected to the Internet, the other one through a NAT router (Netgear MR314). On the one behind the router I have an X100P card installed for PSTN connections. In the local LAN of each PBX they are several hardware IP phones (Cisco 7960 and 7940 with SIP images, firmware image P0S3-04-4-00.bin). I have

Thoughts about extlookup: http://blog.wl0.org/2011/05/thoughts-about-extlookup-in-puppet/
Hi, I have been trying to improve the coding of some of my puppet recipes and had some trouble so wrote this: http://blog.wl0.org/2011/05/thoughts-about-extlookup-in-puppet/ Comments on the web seem to indicate that extlookup() solves "all problems" but I don''t really see that and hence have proposed a possible way to keep the data closer together and make the extlookup()

Asterisk logging questions

Looking at the source it seems that the directory used is specified in ast_config_AST_LOG_DIR but I can't see where this variable is defined. Help? I have seen on the mailing list archives that someone provided a patch recently to the logger to allow logging to

Sip: problem authenticating (with Cisco VoIP IOS 12.x) [long]
Hello All, I've been trying for some time to get Asterisk to register with a remote SIP gateway. I?ve recently managed to configure an SJ Phone to work with W2000 so know the configuration parameters work correctly. Asterisk doesn't authenticate properly and I notice that the authentication request appears different to SJPhone's. Do any tools exist to enable me to check these

a few questions about sip implementation
I'm looking at RFC 3261, I think the latest SIP standard and have a few questions about the * sip implementation: 1. 8.2.6.1 Sending a Provisional Response says that UASs SHOULD NOT issue a provisional response to non-INVITE requests.

Asterisk confused when interface has multiple addresses?
I have asterisk configured on a machine connected to Internet by a cable modem with a public ip. The same network card has a private lan address which I'm trying to use to play with an asterisk configuration with X-lite or an softip phone. sip.conf has bindaddr=192.168.0.1 [the private address of the LAN] to which the client [192.168.0.2] is connected. Doing a tcpdump on the register

How to manage partitions and logical volumes with puppet?
Hi, As someone new to puppet I''m trying to work out the best way to manage different filesystems and logical volumes on different servers. Specifically I would like to be able to define on a series of nodes different LVM logical volumes to create and mount. I''m trying to do this at the moment with a define of the following type: # Manage a partition and create if needed.
