OT: Wireless headset / phone combination
I've been asked for recommendations for a small call centre, an ethernet SIP deskphone with a wireless headset. Similar approach would be a mobile phone with bluetooth head set. Either I've not looked hard enough, or there isn't much on offer. Alec Davis -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Top posting - there is no rule.
What's with the occasional "Un-Top-posting", there is no rule that says you can't, http://www.asterisk.org/community/rules My preference is top posting, as you see the answer at a quick glance, instead of reaching for the scroll bar (or whatever key stokes are required) to get to the bottom, to find that the answer isn't there yet. Asterisk 10/1.6.1 and Dahdi/Libpri compatilities in BRI /PtmP
Hi, After an upgrade, I discovered yesterday strange things I would like to share here. Basically, I'me comparing platforms: The first one is a 2.6.26 (Debian Lenny) platform, with Asterisk 1.6.1.18, Libpri 1.4.10.2, Dahdi revision 8853 (must be between 2.3 and 2.5, I think). The second one is a 2.6.32 (Debian Squeeze) platform, with Asterisk 10.5.1, Libpri 1.4.12, Dahdi 2.6.1. Both are

ISDN Calling Sub Address and Called Sub Address for the branches
Since 2004 asterisk/libpri have been able to receive the Calling Sub Address in the ISDN setup message, and the dialplan was able to use it if required. It's support is limited to only NSAP, not BCD or user formatted. At the time 25/06/04 the questioned was asked, wouldn't it be a good idea to be able to transmit it as well, but that never got implemented, as it wasn't required at

Directory application: First DTMF digit is missed if pressed during "using your touch tone keypad..." announcement
If you're an asterisk 1.6 user, and use the 'Directory application', have you noticed that the first keypress is always missed if you press it during the part of the announement where alison says "using you touch tone keypad" If this includes you, have a look at mantis bug https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16409 If you are keen, please apply the patch and report

ISDN users: 1.6.x users, I need some testing done please, regarding Overlap Receiving
Overlap receiving timeout, plus dialplan latency, causes network to retry SETUP https://issues.asterisk.org/view.php?id=16789 This patch removes the requirement that some may have found that you need to insert a Proceeding() statement very early in your dialplan, otherwise an inbound overlap call may retry and fail. Our experience was from a PRI connected PABX, if we took too long doing

T38 fax printer Windows client for asterisk 1.8
Involves asterisk, so not too far off topic. Being New Zealand based we need alaw support. I've tried a few T38 clients which either don't support alaw (FaxBack free edition), and finished up with asterisk transcoding and the fax never gets sent. Or another client (FaxVoip) that gets a fax through but always has some lines missing. The issues above could be asterisk's problem (1.8
