Originally the SEP001795B05B1D.cnf file didn't exist. Since it was for
CallManager, I didn't bother to configure it and just setup the SIPmac.cnf
file instead. The phone never requested the SIPmac.cnf file...
I found a trick via google that uses the SEPmac.cnf file to change
firmware. The SEP file now contains:

NEWS: SIP Firmware Available for Cisco 7970
I've just recieved a copy of the new SIP firmware for the Cisco 7970,
those of you with Cisco accounts may wish to try it (shock horror I'm
sticking with SCCP).
This coincides with the release of v8 firmware for all Cisco phones (and
for those of you running Sergio's chan_sccp v8 works fine)
The firmware is now also (and for the 7970 SIP, only) distributed in
".cop" files,

Help me how to listen voicemail with SIP 7960
Hi,
Everybody
I am running asterisk successfully, I am having few
couples of SIP 7960 phones, I am booting the phones
with P0S-3-06-0-00 file. But i am unable to access
voicemails through the phone, but i can send voicemail
attachments with the email, which i mentioned in
voicemail.conf file.
The messages button never respond when i press it,
suggest me how i have to access voicemail boxes

Cisco 7960 firmware upgrade promblems
I have a second-hand 7960 which I am attempting to upgrade to use a SIP
image.
The phone currently has a firmware release which doesn't seem to be listed
in Cisco docs - P003AM30. On reboot, it finds the tftp server and requests
the firmware image listed in OX79XX.txt correctly, displaying "Upgrading
Software" on the screen. It then continues to re-request the same image from
