If you wanted to #if 0 it out, that would also be fine with me. -Chris -------------- next

dbFD computing distinct species wrong?
Hi everyone, I am working with the dbFD function of the FD package, and there's something funny happening with the value of sing.sp in the output. Basically, I have a species-function matrix and a community matrix. One site in particular has 6 species, 4 of which have identical functional coding. I thus expect nbsp = 6 and sing.sp = 2 for this site. However, nbsp = sing.sp = 6. This

Another miscellaneous question about applicability
Not that I'm going to be doing this, but just out of curiosity, how well would speex perform for singing? I don't know if speex is specialized to the human voice, or the normal low-stress human voice. Does speex' performance change when dealing with shouting, etc? Have you ever tried jazz scat, or anything like that, cat? Just wondering. --- >8 ---- List archives:

[LLVMdev] sing segmented stack feature
Hello, I want to use the segmented stack feature but I did not found much documentation for it. I hope you could answer my questions: 1.) can I use the segmented stacks with clang? 2.) what are the requirements? GCC requires for its split stack the GOLD linker and GCC compiled with split stack support. 3.) is a HOWTO available demonstrating the usage of segmented stacks (which functions have to

[LLVMdev] LLVM sings for you
Hi all, it's Advent time and I took the opportunity to program a song for you. The sound, i.e. speech synthesis and reverb, is rendered by the LLVM-JIT and the synthesizer is controlled via ALSA-MIDI by the Haskell live sequencer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EQCgi5qa3E "Alta trinita beata" You find additional information in the video description. Any possibility to apply policies on WinXP machines u sing samba 3.2.3 ?
We make use of NT4 policies on our Samba domain. NTconfig.POL needs to be in \\domaincontroller\netlogon. I don't believe that you can use Active Directory GPOs (group policy objects) with a Samba domain. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Tony Hoover, Network Administrator KSU - Salina, College of Technology and Aviation (785) 826-2660

Different sings for correlations in OLS and TSA
...ation. I want to know if this correlation is still as strong when the autocorrelations are taken into account. There are autocorrelations, so I model the data with arima() to get the parameters and fit it with gls(). So far, the code seems to work fine, but what puzzles me is that I get different sings: the gls-fit yields a strong negative correlation. This shouldn't be so, so I suspect I am doing something wrong. Here is my code: # this is my data ts.mar<-ts(c(431.3,438,389.7,353.3,354.6,371.8,397.7,438.5,467.9,505.7,574.7,644.7,667.8,616.4,509.6,447,413.1,384.1),start=1980,freq=1) ts.a...

Debugging R Code
Hi all, is there a more convenient way to debug R code than the built in debug() function? (so that one can set breakpoints, step in and out of function calls,...). I read the section on debugging compiled code in the manual "Writing R Extensions" (I only want to debug ordinary code but thought that maybe the advice there could help), but didn't find out how I can start

Writing Reports from R in Microsoft Office Open XML format (follow-up)
Dear Duncan and other R users, The department in which I work will soon make some decisions to improve our reporting. Since I hope that our solution will support R and Sweave-like functionality (otherwise it wouldn't be an improvement....), I hope it's ok to repeat my question back from June if there are any news on an odfWeave-like package for weaving Microsoft Word documents?
