Natural vs National in R signon banner?
The R signon banner includes this statement:
Natural language support but running in an English locale
Should that not say 'National' instead of 'Natural'?
Meaning that LOCALE support is enabled, not that the interface understands
human language?
Please ignore this and forgive me if this...

Need copy of Wiki Page on phpBB integration and signon
I am in Wiki hell thanks to the morons that are spamming the wili. I
went to check on the articles for integrating with phpBB as I was going
to code it today and it is gone. The back in time function doesn''t work
either. Does anyone have a copy of the wiki from this page?

signon problem
I am using openssh version 3.6p1 under AIX 5.1. I am trying to change the
login herald. I have changed /etc/security/login.cfg, and when logging in
via telnet, I see the new herald. When I log in through ssh, using public
key authentication, I get the default herald. I am not sure if I am
changing the correct file. If I have missed something in the documentation
I apologize, but I don't see

NT coexistence scenario with kerberized SAMBA and MIT single-signon
Hello,
thanks for the time to read this.
I am doing a proof of concept in the following context.
I have a NT 4.0 domain and because I don't want AD, I am moving towards
a MIT Kerberos managed domain which still gives me SSO and thru
kerberized SAMBA, file sharing.
What I have setup so far is XP workstations SSO into the MIT Kerberos
domain, I can access shares on the Samba server

SAMBA + LDAP Single Signon Achieved
Hello all!!
I have partially achieved full single-signon, synched passwords with
Samba 2.2.5 and OpenLDAP 2.0.25 on Mandrake 8.2.
I can change my PDC password from a Win2K box and it synchs the
Linux/Unix/LDAP password correctly. I can change my password from Linux
using 'passwd' and it synchs the PDC password.
Samba is the PDC, and uses LDAP...

After the second request (even if I fail auth or load a page that

Logging Login Attempts
I have passwords turned off, and require keys to match. The zombie armies swarming outside are trying brute force attacks that in part involve guessing login NAMES. If they guess the wrong NAME, this is logged in syslog. If they guess a working user name, then the attack has PARTIALLY SUCCEEDED, but this information is IGNORED. That is, it is not logged. If the zombie army has tell when it

Account Lockout (Repost)
...ss is still questioning me for an answer. I've searched thru this
archive thru the beginning of the year as well as searched thru Google, but
still haven't found the answer to the this question..
Is there a way in Samba to automatically disable/lockout an account if the
user has tried to signon more than a set number incorrectly?
As an example: if JDOE tries to sign into the Samba domain using an
incorrect password 3 times, can Samba disable/lockout this account until
either reset by an administrator or until a certain time period has
expired?
My boss is looking for the same functional...

phpmyadmin hang..
It seems that I can never get through a phpmyadmin session w/o it
hanging on "Waiting for http://....". The only way I have found to
correct this is to cycle Apache. I can always get past the signon
portion, but it hangs at various portions of selecting DBs or Tables.
CPU is not overly active, all httpd daemons running, no myphpadmin
remnants running. Can't find any problems in the httpd log files.
I've searched the web, but no applicable hits.
Anyone been there?

Single Sign-on for UI development (Re: Samba-tool --simple-bind-dn?)
I'm going to rephrase my question
Are any of you using any time of single signon technology to interact with
active directory in a development project? I'd like to be able to grab
the authentication with a user first authenticates as a domain admin via,
say Apache, and then re-use this auth to give this admin a list of domian
user.
Not sure of the best approach.

ses ActiveDirectory and also Ldap and Kerberos.
Hi i'm student and my final project is related to Voip. I have
Asterisk almost fully configured. The next step is to accept login of
users, that data is in Universitys database which uses ActiveDirectory
and also Ldap and Kerberos.
It's possible? I don't want authentications in sip.conf, but in other
remote database.
The problem is i don't have ideas how to start with.

Why are Samba DCs not browsable?
...gt; starting at boot.
----
I thought this was "fixed"? If a one has 1 machine designated as
"the server"... do all things server (file serving, home-dir server,
profile-server, win-authentication server, linux-authentication server,
etc.), w/requirement of having single-signon give access to all
permitted resources.
This works reasonably well (for some value of reasonable) under
Samba3. Samba3 has been (or is being) retired because all functionality
now exists in Samba4.
Is this not the case? Joke used to be when multi-core 1st came out,
that the new core...
