Looking for in Internet (http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_46_4969.shtm) I guest that I have to rebuild the initial ramdisk to contain the proper kernel modules for the adaptec controller. Hi, I am trying to install CentOS 5.2 on a Dell PowerEdge R905, and a problem that you run into is that the DVD Drive on the system is not recognized by the kernel. Can anyone suggest a good open source/free backup software that works on CentOS? I was reading through the manuals on how to back things up and it said do 1 of 2 things. Buy a 3rd party software packages or make one from source. Well I have no clue how to do the 2nd option and I don't want to spend any money so I figured I would as you gurus.
