FW: Squid and HTTPS interception on CentOS 7 ?

Seriously, I am inclined to cut them some slack since they started promoting OSS. They are planning of opensource everything they do which I think deserves a big thumbs up. When is a site too small for Rails?
...9;m going to bust that amount of RAM (and the maybe the bandwidth allocation, too, as it''s puny compared to Dreamhost''s)... so it would seem that a VPS isn''t going to be viable if I want to do ALL of my sites in Rails. I''ve decided that I''ve been shortsighted in thinking I can do all of my sites in Rails. The restaurant site, right now, probably only gets 10 unqiue visitors a day. Some of you may laugh when you hear that I chose Rails to do a site like with that low amount of traffic, but I simply didn''t know any better at the time....

upload file in a database or a server?
Hi, I would like some suggestions. I''m wondering if it''s better to upload a file directly into a database or to put the file into the server and keep the path in the database? Thanks, Eric -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

[LLVMdev] Request for comments: TBAA on call
...gt; think it is worth the complexity at all. > Okay then, we'll agree to disagree. :) This actually happens a lot of the time. Restricting llvm to essentially choosing one tree per load to use for disambiguation, as this scheme will do, when it's not much more work to do better, seems shortsighted to me. > -Chris > > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Future enhancement of imap: sorting?
...love to hear opinions on this. See, in our mail cluster environment, it's basically impossible to use procmail without forwarding your mail to our shell server (nor are we able to use the dovecot LDA). So, the question presented to me by one of my business partners was, since Outlook was shortsighted and didn't include the ability to sync sorting rules between clients, nor did they implement sorting functionality whatsoever on the windows mobile version, what options does he have to ensure proper sorting of his mail without having to leave outlook running 24x7? He doesn't want to ha...

comparison... why mongrel?
Hi, I''ve recently deployed a rails app and our platform is Apache 2.2 + mongrel cluster. It seems to be working fine... although no real tests yet. I just recently found out that it is *quite* possible that the live server will not be getting an update to apache 2.2, and the current version is 1.3. So... I''ve installed Apache 1.3 + FastCGI on the dev server and it''s

Reading in a table with ISO-latin1 encoding in MacOS-X (Intel)
Dear colleages in R, I have earlier been working with R in Linux, where reading in a table containing Scandinavian letters ("?", "?", and "?") in the header as part of variable names has not caused any problem whatsoever. However, when trying to do the same in R running on new MacOS-X (with an Intel processor) with the same original text table does not seem to

Changing rpool device paths/drivers
Hello all, It was often asked and discussed on the list about "how to change rpool HDDs from AHCI to IDE mode" and back, with the modern routine involving reconfiguration of the BIOS, bootup from separate live media, simple import and export of the rpool, and bootup from the rpool. The documented way is to reinstall the OS upon HW changes. Both are inconvenient to say the least.

Squid and HTTPS interception on CentOS 7 ?
Le 08/03/2018 ? 11:30, hw a ?crit : > The government says you must use squidguard to filter something? The law in France (Code P?nal, article 227-24) states that a public network is not allowed to broadcast messages containing violence, pornography or any content contrary to basic human dignity, which is theoretically punishable with three years of prison or a 75.000 ? fee. So any network

blackmail attempt? Stable mailing list block?
I got some weird mail back, claiming that my e-mail was blocked, w/o indicating what server was blocked, after the mail appeared in the mailing list. Is this some BS shakedown? I use postfix on a DSL line forwarding to earthlink, this is hardly something that should be rare in the BSD world... the mail appeared to come from a web mail server and the first link has the following lovely text:

[LLVMdev] Request for comments: TBAA on call
BTW, in any case, can we at least agree that updating the langref and comments all over the codebase that specify the tbaa tree is tied strictly to type hierarchy rules should be in scope to be updated to talk about an abstract heap hiearchy (with traditional type based as an example) instead? I think this entire conversation is going a bit off the rails. Let's try to stay focused on the specific request, and why there (may) be problems with it. For my purposes, I had envisioned using this target-specific intrinsic only when undefined behaviour was imminent. That information is available before the IR and it would work-around the constant folder. I did not anticipate needing optimizations around that intrinsic, since it would ultimately t...

Cemtos 7 : Systemd alternatives ?
Reading about systemd, it seems it is not well liked and reminiscent of Microsoft's "put everything into the Windows Registry" (Win 95 onwards). Is there a practical alternative to omnipresent, or invasive, systemd ? -- Regards, Paul. England, EU. Centos, Exim, Apache, Libre Office. Linux is the future. Micro$oft is the past.

Grandstream Quality Survey.... :P
Today class we are going to be talking about the wonderful line of GrandStream products. Or should I say BarbieTone phones? Who else is having MAJOR issues with the grandstream products? How many times have you been told upgrade upgrade upgrade? How many of you have paperweights, granted the phone is light as a feather and couldn't weight papers down in the first place? How about that
