SuSe 9.1 startup issue
Tom, I am NOT subscribed (yet). I dropped SuSeFirewall2 in favor of shorewall to get past the configuration hurdles I as experiencing. At the moment, when my SuSe 9.1 starts up, I can see shorewall processing the rules, policies, etc. and I see no errors and then moves on with the rest of the SuSe boot process . However, no traffic passes through using the rules. I run an iptables -L and I

Support for oracle_home yet?
Hi - I thought I saw someplace on one of the oracle pages that ocfs now supported the install of oracle_home's. Can anyone verify this ? If so - are there any limitations or things I should know? why are qemu-img and vhd-util created files incompatible?
I was wondering if someone can shed some light on why vhd files created with qemu-img don''t really work right with vhd-util and consequentially blktap in general. To validate the incompatiblity its simple enough to do qemu-img create -f vpc test.vhd 40g vhd-util snapshot -n child.vhd -p test.vhd Which will show the below and then the headers don''t display the BATMAP summary:

FW: Shorewall and selective access
Shoot! Sorry Tom. I thought I replaced your e-mail address with the shorewall list address. I got it working!!! I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Pays to write down what I want to accomplish versus flying by the seat mof my pants. The ACCEPT+ is G R E A T! Took care of some of my issues along with removing the redirect rule (yeah, yeah...I should have thought it over more

Does OpenSSH 3.x support KRB5 directly?
Just curious. There seems to be an awful lot in the source, but no actual configure option. Please advise. -- Austin Gonyou Systems Architect, CCNA Coremetrics, Inc. libxl device_disk_add orphans blktap devices on transaction error
I''m using the CentOS 6 bundle of xen from http://dev.centos.org/centos/6/xen-c6/ and ran into an issue when creating domains with multiple VHD tap disks. Comparing unstable to the 4.2.1 code I''m using, it seems this issue still applies. I''m using a configuration line that looks something like disk = [

Local administrator access
Hi all After a fair bit of fiddling around I've managed to get our XP Pro and Win2K Pro machines to log into our Samba 2.2.2 Domain. However, we now have the problem of not having local administrator access to our own machines. This means that we can't change things like hardware, etc. or even install programs. Does anyone know how to get around / fix this? I would like to get around

New to list -- glennrp
Hello, speexers. I'm new to the list and new to audio compression. I've been asked to look into creating a digital archive of 20-minute speeches (sermons) and speex seems to be what I need. My experience is in image compression; I shepherded gzip, deflate, zlib, and png through the IETF process, put "image/png" through the IANA registration process, and I maintain several

Connection Problems
I am having problems with Samba. Things have been working I think but they aren't now. We have 2 class C addresses, one doesn't seem to be having as many problems as the other. When folks on the 207 side try to connect to Samba shares they can usually but right now are failing and getting a network busy error. The file called log. which appears to be a system log file for samba says:

index.erb vs rhtml
I am a total Ruby/RoR n00b having just started reading the ''Ruby on Rails Bible'' book two days ago. I''ve been trying to work out through the introductory ''Your first ruby on rails application'' section, but I''ve run into problems already! The book goes on about creating the view templates and naming them with the *.html.erb extension, but I get

Unicorn and HAProxy, 500 Internal errors after checks
Hi, This morning, while checking for a correct deployment, we found out that the Unicorns we are using were sending 500 Internal errors very frequently to the HAProxy that sits in front of them. After some investigation, It turned out that HAProxy checks the backend by opening and closing a connection to the unicorn. Unfortunately the Unicorns we use ( v 0.990.0 ) will try to reply to this probe
