Need off-the-shelve PC for Asterisk Server
Does any one have any recommendations on an off-the-shelve PC for an Asterisk Server? This is for a proof of concept, so it needs to be inexpensive. I have tried 2 different PC's and had problems with the sound cards. I am thinking of PC's I can buy from local dealers like Best Buy, Office Depot. SO a cheap HP, Compaq or eMachine would work fine for me. --Steve

Allocating shelf space
...tion of its subject/type/genre II: Given also a specification of available and possibly potential bookshelf space (numbers of book-cases, the width, height and shelf-spacing of each, and the dimensions of any free wall-space where further book-cases may be placed), where some book-cases have fixed shelves and some have shelves with (discretely) adjustable position, and additional book-cases can be designed to measure (probably with adjustable shelves). Question: Is there a resource to approach the solution of the problem of optimising the placement of adjustable shelves, the design of additional bo...

Disk Layout for New Storage Server
We are implementing a ZFS storage server (NAS) to replace a NetApp box. I have a Sun server with two dual Ultra320 PCIX cards connected to 4 shelves of 12 500GB disks each, yielding a total of 24TB of raw storage. I''m kicking around the different ways to carve this space up, balancing storage space with data integrity. The layout that I have come to think is the best for me is to create a raidz2 pool for each shelf (i.e. 5TB per shel...

Xyratex disk units
I am wondering if any one knows of a way to manage Xyratex disk shelves from CentOS (in particular CentOS 4). More details: Some years ago I installed a NAS unit from Exanet which consists of 2 rebadged IBM x3650 head nodes and a couple of Xyratex disk shelves with a total of 96 TB of raw disk, connected by fibre channel. The operating system is based on CentOS 4.4, b...

Open Source NAS/NFS solution
Hi Has anyone got any ideas on a nfs/nas appliance that i can install on x86 hardware with a few JBOD shelves attached to it. I would like an appliance like install and based on CentOS would be great. I really like the look of www.openfiler.com but it seems to be only in RC release stage so i don't think the 'boss' would like that idea. thanks

cannot replace c10t0d0 with c10t0d0: device is too small
In 2007 I bought 6 WD1600JS 160GB sata disks and used 4 to create a raidz storage pool and then shelved the other two for spares. One of the disks failed last night so I shut down the server and replaced it with a spare. When I tried to zpool replace the disk I get: zpool replace tank c10t0d0 cannot replace c10t0d0 with c10t0d0: device is too small The 4 original disk partition tables look like

Shelf plugin ignores current deformation and places window only on 'cube' face during rotation?
Guys, Here is a potential bug that may need to be looked at. If the scale plugin is used and deformation is set to cylinder, then when the desktop is rotated, the self-sized windows are shown on the face of the cube instead of on the face of the cylinder. The sphere deformation has the same problem. It looks really odd. Here are a couple of screenshots showing this behavior: (1) screenshot of

Linksys PAP2-NA
...rning, the PAP2-NA was now marked as discontinued and no longer available and only the PAP2 version was available which is the Vonage branded version. :( I saw someone on the list say that they heard from Cisco that these units were not due out until Dec. Did Cisco/Linksys pull these units off the shelves? -- Eric Merkel MetaLINK Technologies, Inc.

Zaptel? Dahdi?
Is Zaptel no longer available? I returned to a long shelved project (using TDM400P and a customized, canned version of *) and, getting to the configuration, find wctdm is not there. I recall the authors where very "enterprise" oriented and focused on T1 cards. So they left analog support out. Anyway, before I abandon all hope and dive into the "new stuff", I thought I would

Whole lotta stuff
1) Please ignore the patch for wxMouseEvent.h. Including this causes the build to fail. 2) Attached are several files to patch some things to get the bigdemo working (better): Added a generic typemap for converting ruby arrays into point arrays. Added a typedef for wxDash Corrected/expanded the typemap for GetTextExtent Added GetMultiLineTextExtent prototype (there are some others missing I

Storage Resource RAID & Disk type
Are there any best practice recommendations on RAID & disk type for the shared storage resource for a pool? I''m adding shelves to a HP MSA2000 G2, 24 drives total, minus hot spare(s). I can use 600GB SAS drives (15k rpm), 1TB or 2TB Midline SAS drives (7200rpm). I need about 3TB usable for roughly 30 VM guests, 100GB each, web servers so I/O needs are nominal. I''m also going to need to get 4TB usable space for...

problem with TextCtrl#get_insertion_point
I''m trying to un-ignore TextCtrl#get_selection. The typemaps work fine, but in the process it breaks get_insertion_point. This is because (on Mac, tho not GTK), get_insertion_point calls get_selection internally and simply returns the first value. I think the return value is being converted from a long to a ruby int twice, because when get_selection is wrapped, it works fine but the

passwd authentication issues (ATTN: Petar)
Hi, Petar, For whatever reason, I didn't see your most recent reply until I checked the web archives. To answer your questions... Is my dovecot running chrooted? Not that I know of. However, the option to (apparently) decide this is confusing at best. Here is what I have entered. # chroot login process to the login_dir. Only reason not to do this is if you # wish to run the whole
