SheevaPlug Development Kit
Hello everyone, I just ordered one of these: http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp Just over $110 with shipping but they are expecting the price to come down quite a bit: - 1.2Ghz ARM5 - 512MB RAM - Multiple flash storage options - Gigabit ethernet - USB 2.0 - 5 watt power usage They probably won't be shipping until late March but I thought I'd get my order in...

Asterisk and Sheeva "wall wart".
Hey, all. I'm seriously thinking about doing the VoIP thing at home. The perfect platform seemed to be the Sheeva "wall wart" (http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp). It's a cute little doohicky with USB, SD-card, Ethernet, and runs on an ARM CPU. I'd like to avoid SIP to my provider, just 'cause it's always such a drag going through NAT and so forth. So I'd like to do IAX -- presumably a trunk (no?). Unfortunately, the Asterisk ins...

Need to find small footprint asterisk platform
Hey all, I have a potential project which calls for a very small form-factor computer like this: http://www.marvell.com/products/embedded_processors/developer/kirkwood/sheevaplug.jsp However, I am needing an FXS port integrated into a small footprint computer. Nothing larger than a WiFi router or gateway device, but the smaller the better, and able to run Asterisk with at least a spare USB port and preferably WiFi on the system (but no necessary). Even a device that coul...

[LLVMdev] Assuring ARM code quality in LLVM
Hi all, I was recently investigating the build bot infrastructure and noticed that the arm-linux target is failing for quite a long time. I believe that it means ARM code is not executed all that often in LLVM tests, is that correct? We were wondering what kind of support we could give to make sure ARM code is correct and don't regress, specially before releases (I know it's a bit late

Problems getting Dovecot to work.
Hi, having a nightmare trying to get dovecot working on my SheevaPlug (flash based ARM embedded device). I need to use virtual users, and I need to store all the mail on an external USB HDD (not in home directories which live in the limited flash space). However I can't even log in via telnet. I've followed the Wiki troubleshooting tips, and still no further...

[LLVMdev] Building VMKit
I tried to build VMKit on an ARM device today (a Sheevaplug - armv5te) (native, not cross compiled), and got this error: llvm[3]: Building LLVM assembly with /home/debio/build/vmkit-build/vmkit/lib/Mvm/Runtime/LLVMAssembly.ll /home/debio/build/vmkit-build/vmkit/lib/Mvm/Runtime/LLVMAssembly64.ll ExpandIntegerResult #0: 0x16fbf88: i64,ch = AtomicCmpSwap 0x16...

'Bad authorization' error with Asterisk 1.8
Hello! I have compiled Asterisk 1.8.1.1 on my SheevaPlug. It works all right for me, except for one problem that I have encountered: I can only register a SIP client (X-Lite in my case) if the secret field of the extension is left blank. Otherwise it throws a 'bad auth' error. Does anybody have any clue? -- Arik Goldfeld -------------- next pa...

Asterisk on a Beagleboard?
Hello Out of curiosity, has someone managed to run Asterisk on a Beagleboard for home-use? www.beagleboard.org As an alternative to a PC, it can be powered from a USB hub, so that would make for a compact, fanless Asterisk server. Thank you.

Illegal instruction: 4 (core dumped) when running testparm & [sn]mbd with default config
I'm running FreeBSD 8 on a Sheevaplug (ARM5 processor) I compiled and installed Samba 3.3.9 from ports using defaults and defaults for dependencies. I left the smb.conf file untouched, ran testparm and immediately received the coredump. The same happens running smbd and nmbd. Can anyone help me resolve? http://old.nabble.com/file/p268...

Need precisions on --detect-rename
...$SOURCE $DESTINATION but it looks like the only way for "renamed files" is the --detect-rename patch. When I first found about the patch, I was feeling it not safe, but with further reading, I am now comfortable to give it a try. My setup : 1. Ubuntu 9.04 with rsync 3.0.5 on a ?SheevaPlug computer? with a usb drive attached. 2. Unknown distro with rsync 3.0.2 on a ?MyBook World Edition (white bar)?. 3. Don?t know yet witch one will be local and remote. My questions : 1>> Is the "detect-renamed.diff" in the "rsync-patches-3.0.7.tar.gz" backward c...

Dovecot is installed along with postfix, amavisd-new, clamav-daemon, procmail and fetchmail. 7. The mail server is running on a eSATA SheevaPlug that boots of an external USB drive. All user home dirs (and associated mailboxes) are located on a LUKS/ext3 encrypted partition. 8. The output of dovecot -n may be found at the end of this mail. 9. Uid values for the three most recent instances of this problem are: 3801596527, 3371927249, 34431...
