hey list!
i'm using "super flexible file synchronizers" (sffs) with windows for
years and now try to find something similar on linux.
rsync has quite the featureset that i like (still, i miss the
graphical interactivity, and unison doesn't quite match it), but one
feature is completely missing: detecting moved files.

Feature selection
Hello,
I want to do feature selection for classification purpose (using lda). Can someone point me to any R package or S-plus package for this? Something like SFS or SFFS method would be useful for me.

Ethernet poor performance
I am attempting to build an IPv4/IPv6 router. I have put a 2nd ethernet
card in a box.
I have one Ethernet card attached to my network and the other to a
switch with nothing else there just so the link comes up for testing.
When I have the built-in Ethernet attached to my network, I get pings
around 60ms. The other card, btw, does not have any IP addresses configed.

Firewall frustration
Well FWbuilder is NOT easy. The documentation does not match the
current GUI. Now the box is locked up. I will have to pull it again,
hook it up to a kybd/VGA and reset iptables....
Maybe Shoreline with webmin....
Problem is I want a REAL router/firewall with little work. Both public
and private nets have routable addresses. No NATing for me! I just
