Performance issues after samba update (utime?)
Hi all,
We're experiencing performance issues after migrating from 3.0.8 to 3.0.28.
Write performance has degraded about 30%, regardless of the size of file
being copied. (tests described below are a single 150Mb file copy from an XP
explorer)
The setup is somewhat peculiar as the server is mounting NFS shares (v3) and
exporting these.
smb.conf hasn't changed, save for the addition of

Problems with Excel & MS Word files (still)
Problem is apparently with locking issues, disabled oplocks in the [general]
section, and the problem actually got worse...
Here's what happens:
User-A part of group1, opens Excel file off of share, saves, exits...
User-B (or even User-A for that matter) tries to re-open same file, get
error stating it's locked and can only open for read-only access...
Both users in the same group, and

Samba 2.0.6, MKS' touch.exe, and file/dir time stamps
Hello all,
we are experiencing problems with samba 2.0.6 and the MKS touch command.
during our builds, we touch files and directories so that our make
dependencies work correctly. Unfortunately, it seems that MKS' touch.exe
doesn't actually change the time stamp of a file or directory. The
command returns without an error, but the timestamp does not change.
The same problem exists
