Initialize varFunc in R
...n the model: model1 <- update(model0, weights=varIdent(form = ~1|species.group) ) I got no error message or note but when I printed model1 the output did not print any variance structure. It just didn't add any weights or variance structure and model1 = model0 If instead I ran the varFunc sepparately: varf1 <- varIdent(form = ~1|species.group) varf.init <- Initialize(varf1, data) model1 <- update(model0, weights=varf.init ) it works just fine, and I get an output with "Variance function: Structure: Different standard deviations per stratum" and a change in the diagnostic pl...

Dovecot 1.2.+
The Dovecot version is 1.2.8 and i am using an LDAP for a user database. The problem is following... i would like to use a quota dictionary backend from file rather than sql proxy for some reasons. Is it possible to get the full path for dovecot-quota file location from LDAP like from mail variable (/mailboxes/storage_01/domain.org/u/us/use/user/dbox/dovecot-quota)? /etc/dovecot/dovecot-ldap.conf

Setting Separate File server from Samba PDC
I'm aim to set up a file server that is separate from my SAMBA PDC. I've had no problem setting file server up, and joining it to he domain using smbpasswd. Can I use winbind with a SAMBA PDC or is it meant only for Windows NT servers. When creating shares on this file server, I need to allow permissions to various groups and or users. How can I do this. Do I need to set up NIS? Thank

Cisco 7940G licensing with asterisk
Hi there, In Cisco web site http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheet09186a008008884a.html It says that regardless of the technology used you have to buy a licencse. Does the license apply to use the phone with asterisk, or, can i just buy the phone? Also, the phone does not requiere to use an AC adapter if used with PoE injectors/switches. Can non-Cisco PoE

PostgreSQL connection bug
Hello, There seems to be a bug which can affect systems using PostgreSQL as a user or password database. Usually there is just one postgres connection, but if the query fails for any reason, the failed connection is left open and dovecot will keep opening new connections for each auth attempt. I discovered this with a setup using PAM, AND a database to authenticate. Most users login with an

FW: Some queueing disciplines that I wrote.
Dear LATRC and devotees, I have developed some Linux queueing disciplines. I developed them for my masters project. You are free to use or distribute my work. Here is the abstract from my dissertation:- This is a project to implement a Mice and Elephants queuing discipline on Linux. My project has three aims. Compatibility regression after migrating to 64 bit Linux
I used to use Wine (from 0.9.x to 1.1.x) on ArchLinux 32 bits to run a Brazilian Dictionary called Houaiss [1], and it worked almost flawlessly. But then I got a new computer and installed Ubuntu 64 bits on it, and now Houaiss' interface is unreadable (same Windows software, not a 64 bits version). I'll provide further information below, and I'd like to know if it's a 64 bits

GFS and samba problem, again
Hi, I sent a mail a few days ago to this list related with GFS+samba problems. Since the, we have installed a sepparated test environment also with two linux servers where we have tested a samba server with an exported share in GFS. The share is read-only and only one server is exporting it. When we try to access from a single windows client it works fine, but when we try to access to the
