RPC Server is unavailable . . .
Ubuntu 14.04, Samba 4.1.6
I'm having trouble connecting Windows clients to the domain.
"The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "smbdomain":
The RPC server is unavailable."
When you attempt to join the domain, it finds it by name immediately and
asks for username/password, after which it gives the error above. I
haven't found documentation on

Bug#458502: xen-utils-common: Slight problem with LSB header in init.d script
...boots / shuts down.
### END INIT INFO
+# Default-Enabled: yes
PATH=/usr/lib/xen-common/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
VERSION=$(xen-utils-version -q 2>/dev/null || true)
As the stop xend script do not seem to do anything except killing the
daemon, that task might be better left to the sendsigs script in
runlevel 0 and 6. If this is indeed the case, I recommend removing 0
and 6 from the Default-Stop list to speed up the shutdown.
Happy hacking,

crash in networking code (with bt and debug kernel)
While I was tying down a supernet to the discard interface, the box crashed
on me. Its a STABLE box from June 4th. I was in zebra at the time and
thought I would route a /24 to ds0 instead of to the IP on ds0 (which I had
done for a number of other aggregate routes). The only other "strange"
thing about the box is that ds0 is loaded via kld. I will see if I can
reproduce it on a

panic with today's stable
Did cvsup on a machine that does just mail processing (well, a lot of spam
scanning) and it crashed not too much later. This kernel does not include
MFC src/sys/kern/sys_process.c revisions 1.111 and 1.112:
Use kmem_alloc_nofault() rather than kmem_alloc_pageable() in
procfs_rwmem().
Use vm_page_hold() in place of vm_page_wire() since the page can be freed.

Shutdown problem with Geek Squad GS1285U
Nut will monitor the ups and shutdown Linux when the ups goes to low
battery as it should. But the UPS is not shut down so the system will
restart when the power is restored. If I switch the UPS off , restore
power and switch the UPS on the system will restart. I have not been
able to get nut to switch the UPS off after it brings the system down. I
can get the UPS to switch off with upscmd
