compare c-index of two logistic models using rcorrp.senc() of the Hmisc library
Dear R-help,
Would it be appropriate to do the following to
calculate a p-value for the difference between c-ind
of x1 and c-inx of x2 using the output from
rcorrp.senc()
> r<-rcorrp.senc(x1,x1,y)
> pValue<-1-pnorm((r[11]-r[12])/(r[2]/r[5])*1.96)

What could be on udp:48152
...teway ~ > sockstat | grep 49152
bind named 270 4 udp4 *:49152 *:*
Now', is there any reason for bind to use this port?
Googling for that subject didn't bring any results other than usualy this port
is first available for dynamic ports. Which doesn't make sence to me.

IA32 and NASM
Is Nasm always available when the target architecture is IA-32?
For example, FLAC has FLAC__lpc_compute_autocorrelation_asm_ia32_sse_lag_NN() functions
that require NASM presence, and FLAC__lpc_compute_autocorrelation_intrin_sse_lag_NN()
functions that require x86 intrinsics support.
FLAC makes use of the former (if NASM is available) but doesn't try to use
the latter when NASM is not found.
Or does it make sence to add the following code:

data.frame extracting data row-wise
Dear All,
I am struggling with extracting data from a data frame:
x=data.frame(a=1:11,b=100:110)
What I want is a list/vector in this sence: 1 100 2 101 3 102...
For single rows, this works fine:
as.matrix(x)[1,]
For, say 2 rows, this works fine:
z=c(as.matrix(x)[1,],as.matrix(x)[2,])
But
z=c(as.matrix(x)[1:2,])
gives 1 2 100 101!?
Is there an 'automated way' to produce a list/vector from a data frame in which data of eac...

[RFC] - Deduplication of debug information in linkers (LLD).
...g a DWP - like a >dsym file)
Yeah. Looks -gsplit-dwarf? and -fdebug-types-section are harmfull together. Probably it worth to restrict using of them together or
emit a warning (both clang and gcc silently allows the combination and output has size penalty you describing).
But then does it make sence to emit multiple .debug_info sections with -gsplit-dwarf, so that objects will contain skeleton .debug_info and
.debug_info sections with type units as described in DWARF5. So that linker will be able to do deduplication of
types on a sections level as expected ?

Is there any way I can improve text performance?
3.) I would like to downgrade to linux-2.6.16.60 - because a driver I

Thanks a lot, lg Clemens

OT: Collaboa on Debian
I am running a subversion server (on Windows) but I would like to run
Collaboa. I am pretty familiar with the Linux world (not in a developer
sence) and I am having problems with installing the prereqs for
Collaboa. I have read the article "How to install Collaboa on Debian"
but it doesn''t seem to work for me. Has anyone gotten this working and
can help?

Problem with overloading add type casts of numeric strings in PHP bindings
...te them since PHP treats numeric strings much the same as
integers.
The problem is illustrated in WritableDatabase_replace_document() which
takes either the docid or an unique term found in the document, ie the same
number of arguments. The check for a number if implemented as IS_STRING in
the sence of a numeric string which effectivly prevents the application from
reaching the next section which checks for IS_STRING in the sence of a term
and executes the intended overload. The solution would be to change the
integer test from
_v = (Z_TYPE_PP(argv[1]) == IS_LONG ||
Z_TYPE_PP(argv[1]) =...

Changing root journal data mode
Hi,
I'm running 2.4.9-ac7 with ext3 compiled in, and I ran across this problem.
Now that I look back, it makes sence, but it wasn't obvious at first...
I wanted to change the journal mode on my / partition, so I changed my fstab
to:
/dev/hda1 / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro,data=journal 0 1
as well as several other partitions, and rebooted.
After rebooting I had a read only / that I couldn't remoun...

win xp sp2 + samba 3.0.4
...1, sp2, win 9x client machines. Everything works fine excepts
win xp sp2. It just disappears from network neighborehood in about 15-20 minutes
after start. stop/starting "Server" system service on this machine
solves problem for next 15-20 mins. %) What can be done about it?
Is there any sence to upgrade samba to latest stable? I have not found
my problem fixed in bugfix list.

Is there a way to create an OU (in the AD sence) from Unix with the
samba tools ?
I have made a script that create all my users and groups (for a

RSAT.
Thanks.

using VSS on a samba server - no smb locks ?
...;testlock.exe" to make sure the native lock mode can be used.
The test was successful, and I saw that an SMBlock transaction was performed, and a reply_lockingX was replied.
When I opened a VSS database on the samba server and started to use it - I saw no SMBlock operations.
Doesn't make sence to me, because some kind of locking must be done.
Any ideas ?
Thanks,

I''m pretty sure its the way ppp0 is configured, if I set it up so 10.0.0.11 uses ppp1 instead of ppp0 (ip rule add default via xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx dev ppp1 table chris) it works fine but obviously thers no point in that.
Hope all this makes sence to someone, it baerly does ti me. May thanks in advance.

I see. Basing on all comments in this thread I am inclined to agree that implementing newer thing does not make much sence atm.
For now I prepared patch to error out when LLD faces objects with multiple .debug_* sections for cases when we do not support it.
(D40950). (In LLD we are supporting deduplicating COMDATs, so generally such object is not a problem as already supported,
but for error reporting purposes and fo...

Canvas Tag + Rails Ajax
Hi all,
Just looking for a quick sanity check. I was thinking of writing a
plugin for rails to give rails developers a good way of using the new
firefox 1.5/safari canvas tags. I was thinking of grabbing an
existing ruby graphics library and modifying it so that it renders
via the canvas tag..
So you could have link_to_remote pointing to controller actions that
