SDMTools package - calculating overlap?
...rea? The problem with 'Istat' function is also that it requires both data sets to have the same length, while I would be more interested in a function that enables overlap calculation even if data sets have different length. Looking forward to hearing from you! Have a good day. Ana library(SDMTools) a <- matrix(runif(30)) b <- matrix(runif(30)) Istat(a,b) [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

fractal image analysis
Dear all I tried to find some packages (or programs) for image analysis and especially fractal dimension image analysis but so far I had not success. It shall be used for particle surface layer analysis from TEM images. Any suggestions? Best regards Petr

Determine if a set of x and y-latitude points are inside of a polygon using R
...those points are in one of several polygons, as my code overwrites the result. To accomplish this I am using the R-built in function called point.in.polygon. Point.in.polygon takes the x, and y lat/lon points, and the polygon boundaries. Here is the code I've written thus far: require("SDMTools") require("sp") #b is the polygon that I'm referring for (b in 1:9) { D <- subset(Bounds, Polygon == b) for (i in 1:length(Bounds$latitude)) { M = point.in.polygon(Bounds$latitude[i], Bounds$longitude[i], D$PY,D$PX) if (M>1) { Bounds$T[i...

Delete Rows Dynamically Within a Loop
...f this non empty cells, I have to find and keep only a maximum of 10 Male-Female pairs that are within 3 meters from each other. The 3-meter buffer can be done using the "disc" function within spatstat. To select points falling inside a buffer you can use the method pnt.in.poly within the SDMTools package. All that because pixels have a maximum capacity that cannot be exceeded. Since in each cell there can be hundreds or thousands of points I am trying to find a smart way to use another loop/similar method to: 1)go trough each point at a time 2)create a buffer a select points with different...
