A naive question from a non-statistician: I'm looking into running a Bayesian analysis of a model with high dimensionality. It's not a standard model (the likelihood requires a lot of code to implement), and I'm using a Linux machine. Hi there, I am running Monte Carlo Simulations in R using ordinary "while (condition)" loops. Since the number of iterations is something like 100.000 and within each iteration a given subsample is extended sequentially it takes hours to run the simulation. OK, I've been searching the archives and google with little luck... I have a directory which needs to be shared with a number of UNIX clients via NFS and with Windows clients via Samba. What is the best way to do this? Should I configure Samba to share the actual NFS mount? Or should I configure Samba to share the actual filesystem directory?
