Using" fig=" in one screen created with "split.screen()"
...instead of being restricted to only the region appointed to Screen 1. Changing "fig=c(0,1,0,0.33)" to " fig=c(0,0.5,0,0.33)" gives me the result I was looking for. Why do I have to use "fig" in respect to the original plotting device and not in respect to the new one (screen1) ? I thought the use of split.screen() gives the advantage of having three regions that are treated as separate plotting devices, so that my original code should work. But I guess that I got it wrong ?!? Thanks for explanations! /Birte [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Dual video card, 1 monitor each (ref dual head) CentoS4.6 xorg does only 1 head
...X start ok, but will only use one head at a time. Adding a second "BusID" so that both cards are explicitly addressed didn't help. When the 2 "BusID" entries are switched, the active screen doesn't move (it's always "Screen0") and the ignored screen ("Screen1") remains the same. The monitor attached to the video card for "Screen0" becomes the active one. Q1: Anyone have a two video card CentOS 4.6 setup working? Q2: Is it working in CentOS 5? Q3: Anyone see something I'm doing wrong? Suggestions? TIA, -- Bill -------------- next...

Display not refreshing when not moving mouse
Dear nouveau developers and users! After many years of dealing with the blob in my kernel, I decided it was time to move to an open source solution. With one of my machines, equipped with 9500GT it went almost flawlessly. I had to patch kernel to get GLXVBlank option working (only because I used the latest and greatest 3.7-rc6), but that is all, and I'm very happy with the result. Nouveau on

4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help. [Fwd: Problems with two S3 video devices.]
...g files and log files output. The X's start fine, and gnome too. I have the 2 screens working fine, but when I launch some programs, the xserver restart without any type of screen message. I don't know what is the problem, because VNC extension works fine, screen0 runs fine at 800x600 and screen1 runs fine at 1024x768. The 2 video devices uses the same driver s3virge. The first is a PCI (the principal screen) and the second is an AGP device (the secondary screen). Could anyone help me in diagnose and solve this problem? Thanks!! ==========================================================...

Does CentOS support dual graphics cards with 2 monitors each?
I have a user who wants to have 4 monitors attached to his CentOS 6.4 system. I know that you can't use both on-board video and a PCI video card at the same time, but what about two PCI video cards? The system seems to recognize them as shown by the lspci -v output below, but I can't get Xorg to use the second card. Has anyone done this? If so, what is the trick to get it to work?

trying to install 5.2 on a laptop
Hello. I burned a CD with the 5.2 netinstall iso, and installed it onto a laptop (Acer Aspire 3680). Note that I'm *totally* new to laptops. The install went fine. But, when I boot it, it errors at the user login. A screen comes up, stating that X11 cannot start, and that it's probably the mouse. A bit of investigating revealed that there is no Synaptics module installed. It will

Super Pro 9.4 / USAF question
Hi all! I tried to install and run Jane's USAF and Super Pro 9.4 with no luck. The game installs fine, but I cannot make it work under Linux (P-IV 2.5 + 1Gb RAM + NVidia 440Go (64Mb) with Ubuntu 9.10 + Wine 1.1.35 + NVidia 96.43.13). The game runs fine in this very same computer under Windows XP, and my computer exceeds by far the game's requirements. The original program (Jane's USAF)
