Experiences with CentOS & MacBook Pro?
...'m finally of a mindset to replace my now tired, aging Dell Inspiron 600m.
I'm currently running Fedora Core on it, and am fairly happy with the
software.
Has anybody used CentOS on a Macbook Pro? What gotchas are there? (The first
that comes to mind is the lack of a right mousebutton) Scouting on the
Internet, I've seen that some people have trouble getting sound to work. I'm
interested in the following:
1) Network/Wifi support
2) Sound
3) Video (don't need 3D, currently using 2D ATI Radeon drivers and am happy)
4) USB support (works?)
5) External video - I frequentl...

Re: Re: XAPI on debian - sr-create issue
You''re right scout the last line. Out looks like xapi is waiting on tapdisk to plug a key into xenstore. Perhaps a udev rule problem? Perhaps someone who knows more about tapdisk than I well be able to diagnose this tomorrow.

[LLVMdev] Source-to-Source transformations
Dear LLVM Members,
I have started using LLVM for my project two weeks ago and I would be
grateful if you could give me some information for writing a
source-to-source transformation pass. More specifically, I want to apply
a source-level transformation is some functions of my input program in
order to create work chunks. For example, given the following function:

Curious: Schema refresh needed 1 != 2
Hi All,
I upgraded one of our 2 DC's from 4.6.8 to 4.7.2. I am scouting the
log for post upgrade errors and seeing this entry. Should I be
concerned?
I should note, I ran a
samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs
and
samba-tool dbcheck --cross-ncs --fix
after the upgrade. (6 errors found and fixed)
I am not seeing any adverse effects yet.
Kind regards

CD Baby using FLAC to archive 40,000 CDs
As for the storage, I recommend something like AFS, that's distributed and
network-transparent. AFS/Kerberos has a tendency to take
over the network for use as an authentication protocol, but it's both
possible to use AFS/Krb in a hetereogenous environment and a good idea to
switch to Krb5 :).
OpenAFS is quite a good product, I am finding.
A few general notes: Isn't cdparanoia more

TLS Issues - Plain Text login?
I'm trying to setup IMAP, so that it works via secure connections. I
have it working fine over SSL, now I wish to get TLS to work.
I have set imap and imaps to both listen on *, and have
disable_plaintext_auth = yes, which according to the docs,
Disable LOGIN command and all other plaintext authentications
unless SSL/TLS is used (LOGINDISABLED capability).
So the problem is now, that TLS

chown on smbfs doesn't work ??
Hi,
I have a Network Storage Device mounted as smbfs. When I transfer data
using rsync, the permission of files transferred changes automatically
to 502.501.
I couldn't even issue a command chown. The error message said that

Can someone please advise me to get around with this problem?

Samba Winbind Error
I am attempting to setup a RHEL4 client to authenticate against a Windows 2003 R2 Active Directory Domain Controller. I am following the Samba HowTo Chapter 24 on Winbind, and everything works until I try to list out users from the AD. Here's what I get:
# /usr/bin/wbinfo -u
Error looking up domain users
I can, however list out groups in this fashion:

runing .r file from C#
Hi,
I know that the general subject "calling R from C" has been discused but I
have been reading the manuals and also scouting the lists and I can not seam
to find
a working solution for my problem.
I want to call a R script ( let's call it "test.r" ) from within C# code.
After reading about this topic I am trying to do this :

Quick questions ( maybe a little confidence building too )
...irst thing: I want to thank you all for your help over the
past month as I've been learning asterisk. This is one of the more
helpful lists. Even when I ask questions that have answers in the wiki
( which I missed because I've been over studying ).
Second thing is this: My office is scouting out VoIP solutions, and I
have suggested an asterisk solution. We will be getting our voice lines
over 9 channels of a t1. I feel comfortable enough with asterisk to set
this up, but I am concerned about the Wildcard T100P's sound quality. I
got the cheapy X100P clone, and it does some w...

Restrict access to [homes] share
G'day,
I'd like to know how to restrict access to the [homes] share. Currently, each
user is able to read/write to his/her own share, and by typing
\\machine\anotheruser can open another user's share and read/write there too.
I would like to restrict access so that a user can only read/write to their
own share only.
Here is some of the relevant config:

The game runs fine. The problem lies in a scout utility called CMScout I always use when playing CM01/02. Basically what
