The problem with installing Samba.

Can you help me ?
I`have this problem: I`m installing Samba on SCO505.
After tar xvf samba-2.2.2.tar in /tmp directory and
cd ./source in samba directory I typing ./configure and output is
(config.log):
This file contains any messages produced by compilers while running
configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

Hi:
Login script from W98 to Samba 2.2.0 on SCO 5.0.5 running as domain master
works OK, except.....
Relevant portion of login batch file:

The DOS window opens, the script runs and the window closes as expected. But
the Windows message box ("Windows NT Logon Script -- Please wait while
your logon script executes...") stays open for ever and no further action
appears to take place - can't see...
