PXA270 and it's framebuffer - 2700G OpenGL ES

you got right to the point there actually, drivers do belong in hardware, if you ask me... i just fail to see why not
we already do have pixel/vertex shaders, which is, roughly speaking, a way to put software(drivers) into hardware..
but what scitech already did do, is that they "isolated" all platform and OS specifics out of the drivers (device code)
so, we have: one device <-> one driver (+ os/platform specifics)
AMD if wanted could put those Scitech binaries *inside* the chip and you would just get your +os/platform specif...

Mini-Compiz on Miniature Linux/OpenGL (embedded 3D window system)
...-like "window manager", the main concern is size and speed... and by size i mean very tiny:1-2MB
since everyone is probably laughing (id be too, few months ago), i might start by showing its possible,
actually there is already complete WORKING development environment for it... thanks to SciTech drivers it can run OpenGL without X, which cuts in size just enough, but not only that... its setup free, its plug'n'play... well, have a look, hope you'll find it interesting:

Help! messed up user rights with word and samba 3.0.x
Hello everybody!
I need help with a curious problem referring to Word and Samba.
I've installed a network with a Samba 3.0.2 PDC and fileserver and about 8
Windows Clients ranging from w2k prof (members of the domain) to XP home. The
XP Home users have an account within the domain and so can "mount" the Samba
share as a local drive on their computers. All of the users are members

R and Java
I am calling R from within Java.
But I don't think that I can get any plots written to file from R - inside
Java.
This snippet of code(from a larger piece of code) compiles in Java, but
doesn't do anything!
functions.append("trial<-c(1,3,4,5)\n");
functions.append("dawpdf<-function(filename){\n");

Samba3.0.2a, MS Office (Excel), Save problem.
Hi all,
I've done a brief search of the list archieves and cannot find any
solutions to this problem, so I'll post my story and hopefuly someone will
have a better answer.
Brief Description:
This problem has now occured with a number of users, running different
versions of Office (see below).
When saving documents, Office seems to set the read-only bit. The problem

Open-sourced: OpenCL-based multiphysics simulation software package
...our
GPU-enabled multiphysics software - Advanced Simulation Library.
http://asl.org.il/
Here are some remarkable benchmarks:
http://asl.org.il/benchmarks/multicomponent_flow/
I hope that it will be included in CentOS as a package in some near
future (you may join the volunteers from Fedora's SciTech SIG) but till
then you might find it useful in its current form.
Happy hacking,
Zeev

[fdo] OpenGL without X?
hi,
can you please tell me,
are there any other OpenGL drivers, but Scitech, for Linux to make something like this?
myOS - Linux based OpenGL development system without X
Minimalistic GNU/Linux system, stripped down of everything, but core necessary files to compile and run OpenGL/C code. It has simplified directory structure and cleaned up internal cross referencing. P...

R 64 on Intel Mac check problem
Dear all, I have been following the instructions on
http://cran.stat.sfu.ca/with the intention to install R with 64 bits
support on an 8 core Intel Mac
with 6 GB of memory. I am doing this so I can run an analysis that requires
1.6 gB of memory allocation and would not run on 32 bit version of R as I
was advised and experienced.
I have installed gcc 4.2 and gfortran 4.2 from the available sources

NaN and linear algebra
...Ns should not cause errors, but propagate through calculations to be
tested at some appropriate (not too frequent) point.
It seems to me the most useful response is to file a bug on Apple's bug
reporter complete with simple test case etc. It might also help to
bitch about it on Apple's scitech or hpc mail lists, which get
monitored by Apple people.
It certainly is not up to R developers to fix it.

schannel issue on samba 3.0.3
Hi there,
I've seen a strange thing not reported yet AFAIK.
We have W2K DCs with SP3 with Samba 3.0.2a everything works fine in regard
to winbind, but with Samba 3.0.3 winbind produces schannel len 24 errors and
'wbinfo -t' and 'id DOMAIN\userid' doesn't work. Note that wbinfo -u|g works
well and a join was successful as well. I tried to tune my krb5.conf but in
the end I
