Submitting Patches for Facebook Connect
Hi
I am currently using facebooker to do some facebook connect. I found out
that these functions are currently missing from facebooker
connect.registerUsers
connect.unregisterUsers
I have modified user.rb and parser.rb to get these function going. I have
verified that it works and would love to contribute stuff back. However I
can''t figure out how to go about it. Any help would be

According to "Arthur Schopenhauer":
"All truth passes through three stages.
First, it is ridiculed.
Second, it is violently opposed.
Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."
I must admit that I skipped through the first and second stages - I
never found creating init scripts a joy and instead...

chfn, date, chsh INFECTED according to chkrootkit
I ran chkrootkit ( v. chkrootkit-0.43 ) earlier and
noticed that chfn, date, and chsh showed as being
infected. I remember reading post from the past that
right now chkrootkit is giving alot of false
positives, so I suspected that these 3 binaries are
not bad.
However, to be on the safe side, I deleted the 3
binaries, removed /usr/src and did a 'make world' to
4.10-STABLE.
But, chfn,

Variable assignment in imported file
Hi there,
Maybe another bug? I have the following in site.pp:
$localtime = $domain ? {
"example.org" => "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Madrid",
default => "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Madrid"
}
If I take this away and put it in another file, and then import that file, I
get the following error:
err: Cannot reassign variable localtime in file

Puppet Reports
Hello All,
We are investigating writing a custom puppet report that would be a web
app to show a change log for each host. The issue we are running into
stems from how we run puppet. We run a daily cronjob in noop and report
mode and fix inconsistency''s either by hand or by puppet depending on
the host. This should change some what in the future as our puppet
environment matures

Error reloading manifests
Hi there,
I''m running puppetmasterd manually while testing, and I was trying to split
my manifest in several parts using import. If I do so whenever I run the
puppetmasterd the manifest gets loaded and served correctly:
cognos ~ # puppetmasterd -v
info: Starting server for Puppet version 0.20.0
info: Parsed manifest in 0.02 seconds
info: /var/lib/puppet/files: allowing *.example.org

Wildcard expansion in remote files or recursion?
Hi all,
[Please CC me in replies, I am not subscribed to this list.]
First of all, thanks for puppet! It is a very nice tool and I''m in the (slow)
process of using it to manage my new Xen-based virtual server farm with it.
Most of the "simple" tasks worked well so far, and I may be able to add a few
recipies to the Wiki when I find time to do so.
However, is there any way

What to call a class: Manifest? Configuration? ResourceContainer?
Hi all,
I''ve got a new class in the current code, which I''ve been calling
Configuration but Matt reasonably thinks is horrible.
He is recommending the name Manifest, and I figured I''d see what
others thought.
The point of the class is to function as a resource container -- it
keeps a reference to all of the resources we''re managing, and knows

puppet thinks yum fails when it doesn't
Hi all,
Not sure if this is a bug in puppet, yum, or just something I''m doing wrong.
I''m trying to use puppet to update a package to a particular version and exec
a command when that update is applied.
The problem is, puppet calls yum which successfully updates the package, but
puppet then thinks the update has failed and hence doesn''t trigger the exec.

any pointers for starting a windows port?
Hello
I am entertaining the idea of putting some time and effort into
making Facter and Puppet run on MS Windows. Call me crazy ...
Does anyone know anything about the issues that I''m likely to face?
What are the major stumbling blocks?
Initially I''d be happy just getting File to work, this would be of
tremendous value.
I''m guessing that Facter will require the
