RCurl and Google Scholar's EndNote references
Hi! I've performed a Google Scholar Search using a query, let's say "Frank Harrell", and parsed the links to the EndNote references from the resulting HTML code. Now I'd like to download all the references automatically. For this, I have tried to use RCurl, but I can't seem to get it working: I always get error...

Journal Articles that Have Used R
Is there a way to get a reference list of journal articles that have used R? I am just looking for some examples of R graphs and presentation of results where R was used to generate the results. Thanks for any feedback and insights.

Updating LLVM Publications Page
...in compilers... >> Agreed. I have a student that might be interested. I'll check and see. > > Yes, let's put more thought/work into this. We need to accept that only a tiny fraction of LLVM papers are going to get added by the paper's authors. Searching for LLVM in Google Scholar seems to work well, and I have a standing alert there to tell me about new LLVM papers. We added the pubs page (and I force added news papers to it for a long time) because there wasn’t a good external thing to point to. Would it make sense to “outsource” this to Google Scholar or some other serv...

prevalence of R in publications and institutions
...ributed there is no way of keeping track of the downloads and its use in academic and research institutions. Searching for "R statistics" at a book site such as amazon.com or barnesandnoble.com should produce enough hits to convince your colleagues of an active development community. On scholar.google.com the system itself has been cited 3782 times and the initial paper on the system by Ihaka and Gentleman has been cited over 6000 times. Others on the R-help list may be able to give more information regarding the use of R in the biological sciences.

OT - use of R
Hello, is there an up-to-date reference for how many people use R? I'm giving an R demo and want to cite wonderful R usage stats. How many people use it (or download it)? How often is R used in peer-reviewed pubs, etc. Is there any whiz-bang citation that says something like "R is great and developed by the best minds in statistical computing." Any thoughts? -Andy
