supposed to run cross-validations on your tree models. Is there
somewhere I can find some documentation on this function? I have the

what the output is.
Thanks,

How to erase objects
Hi, I admit that I rather carelessly built lots of large objects and therefore ran out of memory. Most objects, which I have at the moment are now unnecessary, but it would take a lot of time to recreate the last few ones from scratch. So I would like to erase (get rid of) selected objects in order to be able to continue. Does anyone know how I could do this?

Ordinal data - Regression Trees & Proportional Odds
Dear Dr. Fieberg,
you used a regression tree approach to explore ordinal data set in addition to
the proportinal odds model. I find this very interesting. I would like to know, how good the
results of the regression tree approach turned out in comparison to the
proportional odds model. Since people very often treat ordinal data as continuous, I would
like to know how successfull this strategy

combining pairs plot with other plots in one output
I would like to combine multiple plots (one of which is a pairs plot)
in one output display:
While this works well:
layout(matrix(c(1,2,3,3,3,3), ncol=2, byrow=T))
data <- matrix(rnorm(1000), ncol=10)
boxplot(data)
hist(data)
plot(data)
This doesn't:
(because the pairs function seems to override the layout parameters?)
layout(matrix(c(1,2,3,3,3,3), ncol=2, byrow=T))

Namespace Feature
I've never used namespaces and don't quite know what they do. If I add a
namespace then do things like shared folders magically appear to users?
Also - I wonder if this is possible. I'd like to create a write only
shared folder.
I know this is unusual but I have a reason. I'd like to have a folder

Find the 50 highest values in a matrix
Hi,
I have a huge matrix (4000 * 2000 data points) and I would like to retrieve
the coordinates (column and row) for the top 50 (or x) values. Some
positions in the matrix have NA as a value. These should be discarded.
My current method is to replace all NAs by 0, then rank all the values and
then extract the positions with the 50 highest ranks. It is very
time-consuming!
Is there a simpler

How to generate a list of lists recursively (for bayesm)
Dear all,
I need to generate a list of lists as required by the bayesm-package. This means in my application that I have to generate a list which consists of 2000 elements, which are lists themselves:
list(list(y1,X1),...,list(y2000,X2000)).
The y are vectors and the X are matrices of different dimensions. I tried to solve this problem iteratively by the following code, but received an error
