Two questions, first about contingency tables, and second about table () and data.frame (), from a visually impaired user.
...s the independent and second as the dependent variable. The IV has two categories, namely, birth complications, and no birth complications. The frequency of birth complication category is fifty, and the frequency of no birth complication category is 34. The categories and frequencies of DV follows. Schizophrenic 28, depressed 26, normal 30. When I am trying to make a contingency table in R, using table(name of variable one, name of variable two), I am getting an error that all arguments must have the same length. I believe that there would be two rows and three columns according to categories of IV and DV,...

Hmm, interesting guy on the RoR list
Hi all, The guy who write some ''interesting'' questions from the email revurikarna@gmail.com (besides that he wants the list members to solve his problems) is highly schizophrenic imho. 3 days ago hi signed his mail ''Kamala'' 2 days ago ''Naveen'' Today, ''Murali''. If you are trying to trick the guys here, change also your email address sometimes, not just your name. Just a suggestion ;-) bw, Peter

using samba-tool from a domain member other than the DC
...ut name.? If I use dc01.ad.example.com it > actually works!!!!!!!!!!? Using either dc01.example.com or using the > IP address both do not work. Why does your DC have two FQDN's ??? This is a NO-NO, a DC must be authoritative for the AD dns domain, how can it do this reliably if it is schizophrenic. I would remove 'dc01.example.com' or make it a CNAME. Whilst a kerberos realm != dns domain, it is expected to be the dns domain in uppercase, also kerberos will not work with ipaddresses. > > And just to prove that this has nothing whatsoever to do with > smb.conf, I moved i...

Retrieving mail from read-only mdbox
This is a 'has anyone run into this and solved it' post. And yes, I've been reading and re-reading TFM but without luck. The background is that I'm working on tooling before we start a mass maildir->mdbox conversion. One of those tools is recovering mail from backups (easy as pie with maildir). We've got all of our email on Netapp file servers. They have nice snapshotting

...er not to clutter the R bug report list. OK, I can save my time; I just wanted to help. But, for others' sake, please reconsider the policy of not gearing the internal R documentation for novices like myself. I will butt out here. regards, /ivo PS: Incidentally, the R help seems a little schizophrenic. For example, Brian Ripley is the most helpful source for learning R (both books and posts), and I am rather grateful for it. I just do not understand why, at the same time, he seems to be annoyed while fielding questions of the r-help post-list. He is not the only individual who likes to help...

tcltk: help with tkmenubutton
I am struck here. What magic inchantation is required with tkmenubutton? I am converting the examples of Perl/Tk from page... http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/languages/perl/Hajji-Perlkurs/part4/tkperl.html ... to R's tcltk. But I don't know how to convert one line in this example: library(tcltk) # create a main window mw <- tktoplevel() # a menu consists of a horizontal menubar, # with

Constructor/extractor.
...from other objects. Questions: ========== My questions to R-devel are: (1) Are there any other functions in R that serve this dual role of constructor and extractor? (2) Even if there are no such functions, is there anything intrinsically *wrong* with having a function possessing this somewhat schizophrenic nature? Is it likely to cause confusion, induce syntactical mistakes, create errors, or produce wrong results? Any thoughts, comments, insights or suggestions gratefully received. cheers, Rolf Turner

Ignoring permission differences...
Hi all, Ok, since 3.1 still isn't in stable, I'm curious if I can just find the equivalent of: rsync -avHP --delete --exclude-from '/home/user/excludes.txt' /mnt/example.com/ /var/vmail/example.com/ But that will ignore differences in permissions - ie, won't recopy everything, just because the permissions on the source are different from the permissions on the target...
