...switch.conf.nowinbind
sudo mv /etc/nsswitch.conf.winbind /etc/nsswitch.conf

I created in /etc/:
nsswitch.conf.winbind (has the winbind options)
nsswitch.conf.nowinbind (does not have the winbind options)
I installed sudo, and added the following in its configuration file:

build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt
Hi,
I wanted to migrate my sambapasswd file to a ldap test system and
noticed, that I do get errors:
build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt ... username with uid
... is not in unix passwd database!
Importing/changing LDAP accounts fail after the last useraccount entry
in my sambapasswd file.
Is there a way to remove all acc...

Member server with LDAP backend?
...username).
Few NT users have UNIX accounts.
I have setup nfs on the new server so the UNIX users can use the new file
store already.
Initially I want to allow the UNIX users access to the server from M$
Windows machines via Samba using domain security and LDAP backends - I want
to avoid using sambapasswd and tdbsam. It seems to me that the UNIX LDAP
objects just need the sambaSamAccount objectClass attributes filling in
using the existing NT account details - which is the best tool for this job:
smbpasswd
pdbedit
net user add
net vampire
Do I also need an idmap LDAP backend?
Once this is up an...

...e samba server.
But as a novice in samba+ldap I'm faced with some questions and did not
find any answers yet, because most docs start with a fresh set up and
don't do a migration.
After importing my posix accounts into ldap and populating the basic
tree for samba I was able to migrate the sambapasswd too and finaly my
windows users can log in. (This was the smbldap-tools-way)
Doing this the Ldapsam:Editposix-way, something with the users main
group mapping(?) fails. (1)
May be somewone can poit me to a good "migrating to Ldapsam:Editposix
how tos"? Or can help my in an other way? I...

...inimal install of Samba, sssd on OEL7 doesn't include or
require krb5-workstation (which is how you get kinit), see at the end of
this post. I understand Administrator is a built-in account. I have
never created it, let alone assigned a PW. All I did which can figure is
related is assigning sambapasswd root, and the bespoke user.map. Remains
anemophily for the creation of the Administrator PW ;-)

Hai,

No, not correct.
root has its password.
Administrator has it own password, even when mapped these are different.
these users just share the same uid 0 !
test with kinit Administrator at YOUR.REALM.TLD
and have a look here.
