wordReport
...rdReport gives a lot of information, but I think it makes us wish for more :-) Where can I find all the ways to write Word documents using R? Namely: (1) is there any way to open a new document and save it automatically? The sequence: WordOpen("new_file.doc"); WordInsertText("R rulez!\n"); WordExit() will prompt for the Yes/No/Cancel prompt, and if I answer "Yes", it opens the menu to "Save As". (2) is there any way to write formulas in the evil Word formula format, but with input as decent latex-like format? Alberto Monteiro

HFSC Advanced Limiting
I am investigating changing our broadband bandwidth control scripts over to HFSC. What I would like to accomplish is this: { * DOWNLOAD * I need a download class for each user (we''ll call it Class 1) that offers a minimum of lets say 384Kbps and a maximum of 1.5Mbps. The rates between 384Kbps and 1.5Mbps should be shared among all users. Each user should always be able to get at

SSH scans vs connection ratelimiting
Gang, For months now, we're all seeing repeated bruteforce attempts on SSH. I've configured my pf install to ratelimit TCP connections to port 22 and to automatically add IP-addresses that connect too fast to a table that's filtered: table <lamers> { } block quick from <lamers> to any pass in quick on $ext_if inet proto tcp from any to ($ext_if) port 22 modulate

Ruby/Odeum vs. Lucene Performance
...All, At the risk of starting a major flame war and giving Java player-haters more fuel for their ire, I''ve done a performance comparison between Ruby/Odeum and Lucene: http://www.zedshaw.com/projects/ruby_odeum/performance.html Please don''t take this as a "Java sucks Ruby rulez" posting, or that I''ve done any sort of scientific analysis here. I''m a professional Java developer so I''m agnostic about the language wars. It''s simply intended to answer a common question I get related to Ruby/Odeum. For the people who can''t or...

Disable clear screen
Hi, Is it possible to disable the clear screen when loading syslinux ? Since the IBM BIOS on xSeries systems shows the MAC address of the onboard NICs, I would like to have them on screen when people do a kickstart fro mthe prompt using eg: ksdevice=<MAC address> I personally think that the clear screen is unwanted in most cases since people can add that to the boot message (ctrl-L) if
