Prefer -u not to change newer files.
Hi List,
Quoting man page:
In the currently implementation, a difference of file format is
always considered to be important enough for an update, no matter
what date is on the objects. In other words, if the source has a
directory or a symlink where the destination has a file, the

Unofficial Icecast HOWTO posted
It should. I just tried it out my own instructions after letting them go
a few days. I didn't want them fresh in my mind. I simply copied the
configs and played dumb (not too hard). I then started up my playlist
server and am listening to it right now. I tested out the streaming
stuff a few days ago with good results.
Hope it works out as well for you all. Find anything wrong, let me know

installation instructions?
Hello Samba Folks,
I have downloaded the file samba-2.2.2-hppa1.1-hp-hpux11.00.tar.gz from your
website, and have uncompressed and untarred it into the /opt directory of my
hp 11.0 machine (as specified in the README) file. Unfortuantely, I find no
directions on how to install it.
I have looked at the following link:

SAMBA and Multiple NT or A/D domains...
To whom it may concern,
I've been investigating a problem configuring SAMBA 2.0.7 on Solaris
servers properly.
My basic questions boil down to:
* Does 2.0.7 support authentication against *multiple* domain
controllers?
In the Server.conf file we see line items:
[global]
netbios name = SAMBA
workgroup = NT_DOMAIN
password server = NT_PDC, NT_BDC_1, NT_BDC_2

prob: no authority to log on from this station
About 3 month ago, I installed samba on a university linux box. I edited
the smb.conf so that filesharing worked for me from a Windows NT 4
workstation. The problem is that it doesnt work anymore, maybe because of
service pack 3? I dont know.
I get this messages when I try to access my home-directory from the NT

Find peaks in histograms / Analysis of cumulative frequency
Hello all,
I have some histograms of amount of DNA in some cells (DU145 cells
overexpressing Bax and Bcl-xL for those who wish to know). The histograms
show not only two peaks as expected, but three, indicating that some cells
have more than normal amounts of DNA.
I am interested in knowing how much of the cell populations are in each peak
as well as between.
I am not really sure how to go

Fitting a distribution to peaks in histogram
Hello list!
I would like to fit a distribution to each of the peaks in a histogram, such
as this: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7029/2724/1600/DU145-Bax3-Bcl-xL.png
.
The peaks are identified using Petr Pikal peaks function (

I am quite stuck.
Any idea as to how I can:

Question regarding analysis of normalised data
Dear all,
I want to see if the treatment of an animal with a specific compound has an
effect on the expression of certain genes. Though my question is based in
biology, it really is all about how to deal with the standard deviation in
normalised data.
I have three groups of animals; untreated, treated with placebo, and treated
with a single concentration of the compound in question.

W(RED) curve implementation in Linux DiffServ
Hi!
I have a Traffic Control/QoS question about the W(RED - Random Early
Detection/Discard) curve implementation in the Traffic Control
environment.
Is this the right curve for RED - has it been tried to be implemented
in the Traffic Control environment?:

Getting group size in a data frame
Hi all,
I have a data frame with some measured values of some animals. Sometimes the
measurement failed, resulting in a NA for a measurement and sometimes the
animal died, resulting in NA for all measurements.
I have several groups of animals. How do I find the size of each group with
only alive animals? And how do I find the size of the groups for each
measurement?
An example:
