HFS+ resource forks: WIP patch included
As you all know, rsync doesn't have any special handling for Mac OS X HFS+ resource forks. Kevin Boyd made RsyncX and rsync_hfs, to address this gap, but they only work when the destination filesystem is also HFS+. I haven't been able to find any references to an rsync that is capable of syncing from HFS+ to UFS (etc). Hello Rsync Community, I have been using rsync for several years to backup servers across an array of different areas. I have run into a new problem that I cannot find an answer for. We just recently purchased a Lacie 5Big Network RAID: http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1596257 for one organization. We set up a test server to start backing up to this RAID via AFP. installing rsync-3-0-5 on a Mac
Hi - is "rsync --version" reporting the wrong version number, or am I to stupid to properly install rsync-3-0-5 on a Mac? Here is what I did: download and extract rsync-3-0-5 (btw: why is there an extra patches folder?) in Terminal I ran: ./configure, make, sudo make install There was no error message, and the old /usr/local/bin/rsync was replaced. When I now issue "rsync
