R-alpha: rsept31.zip
I tried rsept31.zip under Windows 3.11 yesterday and it didn't work
at all ... the screen went black for a second and that was it.
Any glue what I've done wrong? Should it work under 3.11 or only under
95/NT?

R-beta: R on NT
...'m having trouble with R on NT.
Sept 1 97 version 50 in file rsept works fine, except I can't boost
the memory - either with the menu or with DOS command Rsept -v50
In fact, if I run in DOS command mode (no shortcut) I get NT error
window: errno 1411. But then R runs.
With rseptbeta and rsept31 versions, R starts for a millisecond and then
disappears. I've tried replacing the executable in resept31 with the
new executable, but still have a problem.
With rsept31 I get the errno 1411 and then a flash of R
With rseptbeta I just get the flash of R

R won't run under Win3.1 with win32s
I added win32s to Win 3.1 (actually
Windowns for Workgroups). When I start R
(from rsept31.zip) I get errno=120, the R
window with R console come up briefly,
print some info, and then quickly
disappears. As I mentioned in another
message, I'm able to run the same software
in a Win-OS/2 session on a different
computer. Why won't it run on an actual
Windows machine?

Problems with R under Win 3.1
I've downloaded rsept31.zip, unzipped it and have been able
to run it under OS/2. When I start it I get an error (error
no. 6) but the package seems to run just fine using OS/2
Warp 4's Win-OS/2 version of Windows 3.1. (I always have to
tell it wherre the rprofile is. Is that normal?)
I've tried to run the sa...

R-beta: ar
I have been trying to get a working version of ar, since I have used it
in several calculations in the test suite for my time series library.
The following limited version (order.max must be specified and other
short comings) works more or less, but the results differ by more than
I would expect from those given by Splus. I have tried several
variations with no success. If anyone can see a reason

R-beta: R FAQ v0.60
...nicely.
The file `rseptbeta.zip' contains the same version with a few bugs
fixed and some experimental code for dynamic loading of DLL files.
The survival4 packages is included but it currently does not work.
These versions also work on NT4.0, both server and workstation.
The file `rsept31.zip' contains a version compiled for Windows 3.11.
There have been mixed reports regarding this one, some get it going
with a few inconsequential error messages on startup, others seem to
be getting absolutely nowhere with it. It will definitely not run
without a version of Win32s inst...
