...happens only for new users. My "adduser" script adds a line in the smbpasswd with a password field filled with 'X'. When the new user comes to get is account he would type smbpasswd and hit ENTER for "Old SMB password:" This doesn't seem to work anymore. From the rrot account it is possible to put a password though with "smbpasswd username". That works. Once the user has a password he is able to use smbpasswd to change it from now on.
