samba on win2k

Can't connect from Windows 2000
I recently upgraded my Linux install (Debian potato to woody) and now Samba is no longer playing nice with Windows 2000. I can use smbclient on the samba machine to connect to itself, so at least that's working. The error from Windows is: "The semaphore timeout period has expired.". I deleted the smb.log file at one point in an effort to reset it. I figured it'd be created

Cannot access Samba through Win2000 or WinNT Server but can from WinNT Workstation?
Hi all, I have Samba 2.2.2 running on a Linux 7.1 box. 4 machines connected to a WinNT Server via a hub. The 4 machines are WinNT Server, WinNT Workstation, Win2000 and Linux running Samba Server. With Samba running (see testparm for samba configuration details) I can logon and access files on the Linux machine using the WinNT Workstation but cannot access the Samba server using the WinNT Server

Samba Problems
I have a couple of problems with Samba that I would appreciate help with: 1. Since installing version 1.9.17p1, error messages such as "ERROR: set_share_mode: failed to ftruncate share mode file /var/smb/locks/share.9175085.1500224 to size 42 (Permission denied)" are appearing in log.smb. 2. When a directory on a UNIX machine contains a file named *, this file appears with the name ~16
