COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Thanks Andy, helpful as always! 1 is a possibility, but not ideal for us. Could you elaborate a little on 3? I don't really know what a jump stub is, but am guessing it's a kind of "alternative symbol" which would just act as a middle man to invoke the "real" symbol in the static library. If that's the case, I can think of a way to implement it for specific

COFF::IMAGE_REL_AMD64_REL32 relocation overflow when compiling for x86_64
Some time ago I posted here regarding a relocation overflow on Windows (among other things), but the issue disappeared and so the thread got left. I've started this new thread because a) I didn't want to necro the old one and b) it felt like its own. I've now encountered the issue again and am noting down all the information I can get about it whilst it's happening. The issues is

Windows: How to catch C++ exceptions in runtime-compiled code?
HI all, Here in the JUCE team, we are working on porting the Projucer <https://www.juce.com/releases/projucer-juce-4> C++ live coding engine to Windows. Our main challenge now is how to catch C++ exceptions in runtime-compiled code on Windows. This doesn’t work for us and we’re quite stuck at this point. I recently had a chat about this with Chandler Carruth at C++Now. Chandler suggested

That's great news, thanks! If I can be of any help, let me know. :) I'll see if I can reduce the example for the relocation issue whilst you're at it. First of all, thanks very much to Lang for fixing the BSS section bug; works like a charm! I’ve been unable to reproduce the 32 bit relocation on 64 bit code (I’ll let you know if I do). However, I’m still having issues with resolving the 64 bit symbol relocations. In case it’s relevant, the specific symbol my program is tripping up on is IID_IOleObject, where TargetAddress is dereferenced

RuntimeDyLdCOFF and RTTI on Windows
HI Stefan, CC'ing Reid Kleckner, who might have some insight here, and llvm-dev as this may be of interest to other windows JIT users. I am facing the issue that C++ dynamic_cast doesn't work for types > loaded from object files with RuntimeDyLd. <snip> Do you think it is possible that RuntimeDyLd misses type info data in > the COFF file or doesn't wire it up

Oops, sorry for the spam. That last comment was incorrect. Fitting nonlinear (quantile) models to linear data.
...fixing my script somehow, or whether fitting a nonlinear model to data that may have an underlying linear pattern is inherently statistically wrong (I thought that I could use the estimate of the asymptote as a metric of how linear versus asymptotic the data were). RuntimeDyLdCOFF and RTTI on Windows
I have a similar build tree to what you describe on Windows, but I get this: $ clang -c -emit-llvm repro_input.cpp -std=c++11 -o t.bc $ lli t.bc LLVM ERROR: Program used external function '??_7type_info@@6B@' which could not be resolved! It looks like people have already reported similar issues. Have you done anything to get past this kind of problem? On Sat, Oct 22, 2016 at 7:18 AM,

It’s pretty intermittent at the moment…sometimes I get the relocation overflow issue, sometimes I get another issue about BSS sections having no contents. The source code to reproduce either is simple: #include <iostream> int main (int argc, char* argv[]) { } I’ve managed to reproduce the BSS section issue in clang consistently, and since that comes before terms of where it happens in
