Running USB DSL Modem
Is it possible to use Wine to run USB DSL modems with Win9x only drivers? I had a choice of a free PCI or USB modem and heard I had a better shot with the USB. There are no Linux drivers, at least for now. Tom

Camera Communications
I have an Olympus camera which communicates with the software through a special cable connected to COM2:. The software works in WINE, but it won't communicate with the camera, it says my COM: settings are wrong, but I've tried changing settings to about every combination possible with no luck. Any ideas? Has anyone gotten this type of camera to work in WINE? Thanks, BIll K.

[PATCH 0/2] Do not use the "red zone" on EFI
...t relocs is no longer used at all) - used to compile assembly file which obviously control the stack usage. The very same goes for "make efi32". "Make bios" produce no occurrence of -mno-red-zone. Regarding the other flags needed, I'll take those from this link: http://www.rodsbooks.com/efi-programming/hello.html - -fno-stack-protector has the same exceptions as above + the installers (which is the right thing to do). - -fPIC is used instead of -fpic, which is good. However, this option is not always specified for efi32, by looking at mk/embedded.mk, it seems to be on purpose...

How the hell does it know that it is "Syslinux" ? The same file content does not cause that name if it is presented under the default name. Does EFI just guess

Partition large disk
Hi, I have a 24TB RAID6 disk with a GPT partition table on it. I need to partition it into 2 partitions one of 16TB and 1 of 8TB to put ext4 filesystems on both. But I really need to do this remotely. ( if I can get to the site I could use gparted ) Now fdisk doesn't understand GPT partition tables and pat

[OT] linux on a PPC (mac mini)
Hello there, complete off-topic, sorry about this, but my former idea was to install a CentOS on an old mac mini (PPC!). Disappointed to see that PowerPC is not a supported architecture and that non ARM or Intel architecture are not managed by recent distros.. :-(. Searching the web, I see very few possibilities to install a recent (I need gnome2) GNU/Linux distro on such hardware. I gave Linux
