Rockwell ACD - "Take back and transfer"
Hi all- I have a customer with a Rockwell Spectrum ACD. They wish to connect to an asterisk system using euro-ISDN circuits, and asked me if asterisk supports a feature that they call "Take back and Transfer". This feature allows an IVR (asterisk in this case) to handle a call and then blind-transfer it back through the AC...

56k modem configuration
Hello everybody, I've got a 56k usb modem, lsusb says: Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0572:130 Conexant Systems (Rockwell), Inc. I'd like to let it work with Asterisk. I think that I should use chan_modem and/or chan_modem_bestdata, but I found little or no documentation. Can anybody please post some instructions? Thanks in advance, -- Dr. Andrea Spadaccini Multimedia Technologies Institute - MTI S.r.l. Web...

After testing/deploying 2.2.2 to 400+ workstations from 2.0.6 to 2.2.x, in order for W2K and XP to see there home accounts living on departmental UNIX production workstation, we have ran into...

Changing file permissions from NT
We run a Network of Suns (running Samba) and PC-NT (version 4, sp3) machines, at work, and find it very annoying to be unable to change the file permissions of files from NT on the Suns. Is there any way to change the permissions from NT file explorer or otherwise ? Dave Kirkby

Slowdown when copying large files (PR#8617)
> Further to my previous post, I have made an interesting discovery. This > particular slowdown only occurs from clients that are running > Windows 98. The Windows98 explorer (and possibly other programs) incorrectly set the "sync" bit in write requests to network shares. This causes an enormous slowdown as Samba (quite correctly) does a fsync() on the file after each write.

Xen 3.0.2 and DHCP from domU
Hello, I am running Xen 3.0.2 on a regular Intel P4, with the default network setup. My problem is that my domU''s DHCP requests do not seem to reach the outside world. I can see them if I tcpdump in dom0 on xenbr0, but I cannot see them from another machine plugged into the same switch as my Xen machine. This external machine _can_ see the DHCP requests made when dom0 makes its

Modems supported by Asterisk
Which modems are supported by Asterisk for full-duplex (as a VoIP-PSTN gateway) operations? I've tried Asmax Mustang (based on TI RK 56000 chipset) but it's 4-bit only, also tried Zoltrix on Rockwell 56k chipset, hacked a lil' bit chan_modem_aopen (so it chooses 7200Hz instead of 8000), sound was 'understandable' but only one-way :/ .Does anybody has experience in using full-duplex voice modem with Asterisk? Are there any cheap alternatives? WK

Modem channel in Asterisk
Hi, I have installed an USB modem and test it using the strings from the included Aopen modem (Rockwell based), modified the modem.conf file and then Asterisk load them without errors. What is the syntax to be used with a modem as a FXO device when dialing? I have tried: exten => .[246]XXXXXX,Dial(Modem/${EXTEN},20) but it doesn't work. What else must be done? Thanks, Dan

FW: spandsp...can't compile *
...fax greeting tone. I tried getting a friend to send me a test fax, but his multifunction centre couldn't handshake with the softfax. He made a comment that it sounded like the softfax was generating the tones too fast. I've tested it with another fax machine (also an MFC device) and a Rockwell modem sending from Windows XP, but they none of them seem to be able to handshake. I have an isdn4linux card as my ISDN card, does the spandsp suite only work with Zap channels? Actually, I might CC this back to the mailing list, to see if anyone else has any ideas... Thanks!
