US telco lingo
Could someone explain to a non-US dummy the following phrases I have seen on the list. "I can provide you with tier 1 termination 6/6. I can blend or NPANXX breakout." "We provide US48 termination, blended rate for 1 MOU and above is .008 with 6/6." What is 6/6? What is US48? What is blended? What is MOU? What is NPANXX breakout? -------------- next part --------------

FXS channel banks
Greetings list, I've been asked to provide a system for 200 extensions, most of which will be existing analogue POTS handsets, not IP handsets. I've not really had any experience with large channel banks in the past (since most of our deployments are strictly IP-only to the desk), so I'm at a loss as to which ones are worth looking at. If anyone's had experience using channel

RE: Noise on ZAP channel
...utside chance - make sure Tip and Ring > are correct. You could be getting ground loops - depends on the noise. > I am having noise and slip errors between my TE110P and a legacy PBX T1 card. Could this be the same symptom? The connection is made using a 15 pin serial on the T1 Card side to RJ48 on the TE110P side. I can't determine what the pinout is on the serial side. Thanks, Geoff

APC Smart-UPS RT 5000
Hello all I've a brand-new APC box, model Smart-UPS RT 5000, which comes with a black cable RJ48 in one side (10P4C) and RS232-DB9 in the other. The cable reads "940-1525A" in the DB9 side. Which is the best setting (driver and options) to connect this UPS to my computer? It seems not to be recognized by a typical apcsmart driver setting. Many thanks Noel Torres er Envite

Connecting Asterisk to Siemens Hipath 3750
Hello all, I am trying to connect asterisk to a Siemens Hipath 3750 PBX system. I have a physical connection issue. I know that I should use a crossover RJ48 cable to link the two systems. The problem however is that the physical interface of the Siemens system is very unfamiliar. From my digging around, I think that this is an S2M interface. http://www.mail-archive.com/asterisk-users at lists.digium.com/msg86298.html Please any suggestions on how to...

Ideal Setup for T1/PRI and TE110P - second try
Hi all, I'm sure something similar has been discussed, but one can only wade through the archives for so long. I'm setting up a T1 and my telco has a bunch of questions it wants me to answer. I know much of the TE110p is configurable to do any of this, but I wanted to know if there is an optimal or preferred setup. Any help would be appreciated. Here is the quiz my telco is giving me:

Digium TDM400P has RJ45 interface, how to connect to analog phone RJ11?
<div><BR>Hello,</div> <div>&nbsp;I bought a TDM400P, and intended to use it with my analog phone, which is RJ11 ofcourse. So, the question now, how do I plug in my RJ11 phone to the TDM400P card, which has an RJ45 interface? Also, since it's an 11B card, I also intend to bring in an analog line into the RJ45, so i am still left with the same question....how do I go

AT&T T1 Cable Needed!
Hi, I just got a T1 interface for a AT&T (became Lucent) System75 (uses same cards as Definity). I would take a crack at making a cable but can't determine the pinout for a cable and it is not apparent from the board. Asking you guys makes sense as one of you may have one of these systems. The cable has a amphenol male D50 connector on one end and probably a rj45 on the other. I also
