Lattice xyplot log scale labels help!
I have a problem with lattice log scales that I could use some help with. I'm trying to print log y-axis scales without exponents in the labels. A similar thread with Deepayan' recommendation is here: http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/e11/help/10/09/9865.html. For example, this code using xyplot produces a logged y-axis but the labels (e.g. "10^1.2") are not very

Journal of Statistical Software 23(7)).

Alternatively a generalized Akaike information criterion (GAIC) can be used to compare models. Issue with EROR stream/ices_instance_stream libshout error: Out of memory
Hi... first post to this list so be gentle with me! I've got Icecast 2.2.0 running well, and using Ices 2.0.1 to feed the OGGs. All was working, then all of a sudden I've started getting these messages in the (ices) log... [2005-05-08 12:10:19] INFO ices-core/main IceS 2.0.1 started... Playing a certain mp3 on a schedule
Hi guys (and girls). Is it possible to play a particular MP3 after every x number of tracks? Kinda like a radio jingle type thing. say, play 123.mp3 no less than every 10 mp3's but no more than every 15 mp3's., giving the effect of playing 123.mp3 every 10 to 15 songs. I'm sure it can be scripted but I have absolutely no idea how, so if someone could start me off it would be

Formatting a list from the DB
I am working on a project where there is a table called mixes. You create a new Mix and in the contents box, you type in the name of the songs used. Because the number of tracks could be unlimited, I decided to use a text box. Is there anyway I can have my views make the list look right, instead of as a jumble of text. Or, would there be some way, using arrays and maybe ajax, so the user

Nonnormal Residuals and GAMs
Greetings, My question is more algorithmic than prectical. What I am trying to determine is, are the GAM algorithms used in the mgcv package affected by nonnormally-distributed residuals? As I understand the theory of linear models the Gauss-Markov theorem guarantees that least-squares regression is optimal over all unbiased estimators iff the data meet the conditions linearity,

(Classical) Request for Standardization of expanded TAGS
A month or two ago I sent an email to this list proposing to expand the list of "standard" tags for Ogg Vorbis. No tag would be required, but if you wanted to encode certain types of information about a file, you could use a standard tag. I went through the whole discussion, and revised my proposal in light of all the comments from everyone. Here is the updated proposal. This
