2-NIC DMZ?
Hi all,
I have two static IPs from my ISP. I would like one of these IPs to be
directed to my desktop box all the time, and the other to be directed to a
DHCP-served NAT network. I''ve nearly gotten it working using iptables and
iproute2, but one problem is that i would like packets coming from my
desktop box via the firewall to be printed with my desktop''s external IP.
They are

[RFC] Adding time-trace to LLD?
Hi all,
I've been using -ftime-trace on the compiler and find it very useful for
analysing compile times and whole build times. I've made a first attempt at
adding this to LLD (ELF) so link times can be traced in the same way:
https://reviews.llvm.org/D69043
This works for LTO and ThinLTO, but needs some more work to make sure it
scales well across multiple threads.

...; I know only on that hates it.. dont you Rowland. ;-)
I am not the only one Louis and this is one of the reasons why.
Just what has an init system got to do with mounting a filesystem ??
I am not adverse to progress, but, in my opinion, systemd isn't
progress, it is a way of making red-hat richer! Your opinion may
differ, just don't waste your time trying to change my opinion of
systemd.

formatting a 3 terabyte partition
hi.
i'm hitting a wall each time i try to format a 3 terabyte partition. i'm
able to create the partition using parted but whenever i try to create a
3 terabyte xfs or jfs or ext3 filesystem, the mounted filesystem created
is only 1 terabyte. i tried centos x86 and x86_64 4.0 but i always hit a
1 terabyte limit. please help.

r-api-3 with R 3.5.2. on Stretch: is there a workaround?
Now that I am at least mapping the right repository to my Debian version (doh!) I have another question. In the installation page at https://cran.r-project.org/bin/linux/debian/#debian-stretch-stable there is the line:
"Please note that R packages from the Debian stretch distribution are not compatible with R 3.5.x, as it provides r-api-3.5, while the stretch packages depend on

[LLVMdev] Some thoughts on metadata, debug info, TBAA, annotations etc
Hi All,
I'd like to propose some extensions to LLVM that will make it
substantially faster at manipulating debug info, and will make the
general annotation mechanisms in LLVM much richer:

Thoughts welcome,

Calling R (GNU R) functions from Common Lisp, how?
...f both Common Lisp and R (GNU R).
I found R has a rich collection of statistical and numerical
computation functions, while it is not as extensible as Lisp (Common
Lisp).
I considered Lisp-Stat but its only implementation is not in the
usuall Common Lisp, and the available functions in CRAN are far richer
than Lisp-Stat currently has.
I want to know if there is already an existing way of calling R
functions from within Common Lisp?
If no, please point me to relevant resources so that I can create one
(that works in a platform-independent manner).

I am trying plotting simple time-series with ggplot2 because the output

Any experience with w3perl? The demo at least looks impressive.

If you don't give more details about what you're thinking about, as
Grzegorz has asked already, you're unlinkely to get any feedback, as you're
probably still the only one knowing the details...

Right. For example, the Cray X1 has a much richer set of memory ordering
instructions than anything on the commodity micros:
http://tinyurl.com/3agjjn
The memory ordering intrinsics in the current llvm proposal can't take
advantage of them because they are too coarse-grained.
Now, I don't expect we'll see an llvm-based X1 code gen...

let's separate "what" and "how".
I do not speak abot "how" right now, because it is rather
a second step (if any).
I do believe that reflections without interpreter or JITing
can't be any powerfull.

New Asterisk Manager Proxy -- astmanproxy 1.0
...ther factors have
all pointed to the need for a Manager Proxy.
In September, as a proof-of-concept I released a first version of a proxy
called simpleproxy.pl, which has been widely deployed. Wanting to add in
new features, such as XML output capability, I have released a new and
considerably richer multi-threaded/pthreads based proxy called
"astmanproxy".
It is now available here:
http://www.popvox.com/astmanproxy
Please evaluate it and let me know your thoughts. I will be presenting
this code at next week's Astricon in Madrid and would like to gather some

Can creating new forms of debug info metadata be simplified? [formatting fixed]
...y's mind and not just my own, so I'm
curious about what people think. I realize that "new forms of debug
metadata" is possibly not a very popular use case as there has been only
one new kind added in the last few years. However, in my humble opinion,
it would make it easier to add richer information allowing those of us
extending LLVM to create better debuggers/debugging experiences.
Thanks for your time!

Anyone Think a RailsForge Is a Good Idea?
...del of installation
2) Rails Extensions ''r'' Us
Lists extensions by category with a brief description and pointer to
source and wiki articles. Allows for user rating and comments.
Pros: Allows you to host your own plugins and engines in svn as you''re
used to. Provides richer feedback on how good an extension may be.
Cons: Each person still has to host his own extension or plugin
I don''t know if this has been considered, but I thought I''d toss it out
there to see what people think.
