Boot hanging with rhgb
Hello I have installed Centos-4.1 and love it over Fedora or Mandriva. A big thank you to all the hands and minds that have put together a very good distribution. However I do have a problem when I boot with rhgb enabled in grub.conf. The system hangs at the end loading IE(when the bar is full). I can get bye in either of two ways. The first is to switch to a virtual console before the system hangs and the other is to remove the rhgb option in grub.conf. I would ask for any comments on how to trouble sho...

Centos 4.1 Boot Problem on ML570 with Compag 5300 Storage Array Raid Controller
...e and ran e2fsck on the /root partition. No errors came up and rebooting the box resulted in the same error! So I dug a little, and found that putting some comments in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit would circumvent *the error* and allow the box to boot. Problem with nvidia-drv-x11 when upgrading to CentOS 5.2
Hi! I know that the nvidia-drv-x11-package is from RPMForge, but I thought I might mention it here. I have a machine with a NVidia-card and because of the ease of use I use the rpmforge-package for that. After upgrading the problem was that during rebooting as soon as the machine hit the RHGB (which implicitly uses that driver) the machine froze. I booted into the old kernel removed rhgb, rebooted. Now the machine froze when starting X. Same procedure: Old Kernel. Remove nvidia-drv-x11. Reboot into the new kernel and reinstall nvidia-drv-x11. After a reboot everything works as it used t...

Reboot the system and checked again kernel parameters on grub menu and seen that nothing changed. Booted and freezed. I checked /boot/efi/EFI/centos/grub.cfg and kernelops has the new directives.
