oVirtBIOS : Virtualization Firmware
Misters,
Let me introduce myself : Guillaume FORTAINE, Engineer in Computer
Science. Me and my partners are currently working on a Virtualization
Firmware.
After an analysis of the various solutions (Citrix, VMware and
Microsoft), it seemed
natural to our eyes, to enable a true bare-metal hypervisor, to go as
close as possible
to the hardware, hence the BIOS.
That's why we are currently

Job Posting - Early stage political startup looking for advanced rubyist and/or designer
This is a shot out in the dark, but I figured it''s worth a
try...especially in this job market. :)
My friend and I are in the very early planning stages of a startup
that will be politically focused. We intend to develop tools that
will revolutionize and dominate the next generation of the politics.
I am a developer with nearly 5 years of experience with Ruby & Rails

R-beta: Rnotes.tgz
My question is really to Robert and Ross (and also to Bill Venables
and Dave Smith) -- but I thought that there might be wider interest in
it.
The "Notes on R" in the file Rnotes.tgz is copyrighted to the above
authors -- can I make copies of it to distribute?
I suspect that the intention of the authors is that Rnotes be as
re-distributable as R itself. However there is no GNU license

Feedback and help in porting the NUT sysV init script to upstart
hi there,
first, kudos to Scott. You guy rock with this revolutionizing (and so logic)
idea ;-)
next, a personal point of view about the lack of upstream adoption of
upstart:
I wanted to provide an upstart script for NUT for some time, but never found
enough matching example to do so.
the embedded scripts only address inittab, and the replacement-initscripts
are unreachable (see below) and far

off topic but need your pointers about statistics
Hi all,
I apologize for this off-topic question but I need your help -- I know
there are lots of experts here.
As a lover and student of statistics, I am thinking of building a tree
of various branches of statistics and keeping track of the greatest
historical inventions/discoveries in statistics and the latest
development of each branch. The goal is to understand in what context

Updating the page dynamically
Hi, I''m developing a Rails application that displays data from MySQL
database table. I have an external python script that adds new rows to
the table. My goal is to dynamically add new rows to the html table
which is displayed in my browser (without reloading the page). I''ve
read that Ajax can handle this task ("periodically_call_remote"). But
I don''t want to

books about MCMC to use MCMC R packages?
Dear list users,
I need to learn about MCMC methods, and since there are several packages in
R that deal with this subject, I want to use them.
I want to buy a book (or more than one, if necessary) that satisfies the
following requirements:
- it teaches well MCMC methods;
- it is easy to implement numerically the ideas of the book, and notation
and concepts are similar to the corresponding R
