Hi R list:
How can I "repeat" a data frame n times (with n>1000),
and obtain a new data frame where all the n data frames
are binded by rows?
Thank you for your help

AW: Problems with installation
ok - I tried this too. But CentOS tries to find the floppy as /dev/hda which
is not the device for the USB-Floppy. Dell ships one with the server because
no one is integrated. So when I try to include the driver disk the installer
is not able to find it.

Mongrel 1.1.4, possible bug http_response
Hi,
I found this while digging inside mongrel to provide IO streaming
for mongrel (and thus for Rack and Ramaze):
* In socket_error a local variable done is set, which has no effect.
* done=() always sets to true, where it (for completeness sake) should
honor the passed value.

why user nobody
Hello,
today i deleted the user "nobody" (entry
"nobody:x:99:99:Nobody:/:/sbin/nologin" in /etc/passwd) on my samba-server.
As result, no user could log in to domain anymore.
Does anybody know, what the user "nobody" plays for a role in samba?

[LLVMdev] Haswell New Instructions
Hi all,
Intel has just revealed its AVX2 instruction set, to be supported by the
2013 Haswell architecture, and it's looking quite revolutionary:

rails vs. nodejs
I am going to make an opinionated comment here. This is just my
opinion and everyone has one.
I think rails is the best framework out there. But I think all these
frameworks do not solve any actual problems. They just abstract
problems to simpler forms. On the other hand nodejs actually created
a new and revolutionary way to develop web applications easily. Almost
like writing a simple script.

acts_as_textiled
It''s nothing revolutionary. Just a plugin which lets you forget about
the whole Textile to HTML render process. Once you tell your model
which fields should acts_as_textiled (and as long as you''re using
form_for for your text entry) it Just Works. No DB changes or
whatnot.

Bug in agrep computing edit distance?
The documentation for agrep says it uses the Levenshtein edit distance,
but it seems to get this wrong in certain cases when there is a
combination of deletions and substitutions. For example:
> agrep("abcd", "abcxyz", max.distance=1)
[1] 1
That should've been a no-match. The edit distance between those strings
is 3 (1 substitution, 2 deletions), but agrep matches

isdn configuration
Hi,
I have installed Asterisk with sip clients and an ISDN card from Billion.
From an ISDN phone I can dial the Asterisk and hear the welcome message,
hear the echo test etc.
I want to use Asterisk as a gateway between PSTN and SIP so that callers
to my ISDN will be transferred to my fwd account and/or the SIP clients
connected to Asterisk.
I assume my modem.conf is configured
