Sortable + Table = Ouch!
I have an HTML table I am trying to "retro-fit" with a sortable such that a cell in one column/row and be moved to another. What I have tried in tyerms of formatting looks akin to: <div id="schedule"> <table> <tr> <td><div id="one">Some Text</div></td>...

Yes that seems to be working as desired. Thanks much. Upgraded to 4.8 - forced to use winbindd - retro how to missing?
We recently upgraded a test server to samba-4.8.3.... but wonder how to reproduce the legacy behavior with winbind now forced into the picture for better or worse. We specifically do not want any of the whiz-bang capabilities of winbind, just the old familiar mapping of windows usernames to unix usernames. It seems not sufficient to omit winbind settings in smb.conf; i.e., the defaults force the

winbind is running and I fixed the ranges. testparm seems happy now. Same result. Any other suggestions? (Classical games is another story, such as chess, and those "public domain") In order words, doesn't matter how old a game might be. it will not get obsolesce. When it come to "PC" Games. Windows really did a good job on retro games. they simply wouldn't work. Getting 98s games running in windows 7 is mostly impossible. But here come WINE. WINE really open up a "window" to Retro Games. A lot of great title that no long work on Windows are now work on Linux and other Platform with WINE. In Fact, some of them...

Well it *almost* works as before. With this stanza and version 4.8.3, access seems to only be granted per the single group listed in a user's entry in /etc/passwd, not including groups listed in /etc/group [global] workgroup = AMERICAS realm = AMERICAS.X.Y security = ADS idmap config * : range = 100000:199999 idmap config AMERICAS : backend = nss

Prior to 4.8, without winbind in the picture, a windows user named "rab", for instance, could be authenticated by AD, but would assume the identity of the Unix user "rab", with all of his Unix defined groups. Of course, this is not full emulation of a Windows server experience, but nonetheless it is the behavior we wanted and worked well in our environment where every AD user

NT domain, Win10 1903 and profiles...
Not only NT domains, but also Samba 3.6! Wow! I'm a retro-sysadmin! ;-) I know i'm asking a rather hard thinks but... we are upgrading, but also solving some troubles. We have ''decently'' integrated some W10 1803 in a NT domain, but now with some other 1903 there's no way to make roaming profiles work. Looking at samba logs, s...

[RFC] Remove AGP support from Radeon/Nouveau/TTM
.... Christian, I would respectfully ask that this change be rejected. I'm currently an end user on both Intel (32-bit and 64-bit) and PPC (Macs, IBM Power - BE and LE). Linux is not just used for modern hardware. There is also a subset of the user base that uses it for what is often termed retro-computing. No it's not commercial usage, but no one can seriously claim that that Linux is for business only. Often the old hardware is built far batter than the modern junk, and will continue to run for years to come. This group of folks either has existing hardware they wish to continue to u...

CentOS4 + Subversion?
Hey all - does RHES4/CentOS4 beta contain a recent integration of Subversion? I've been holding off trying to retro-fit CentOS 3.x on our CVS server, hoping that the official channels aready had it in store for the future. Not that you *can't* retrofit, I was just uncomfortable upgrading so many stock packages. Anyone have it installed, can take a look for me? thx, -te -- Troy Engel | Systems Engineer...

Samba4 join xp problems
Samba4 no longer supports clients with windows xp, because I have updated the samba to version 4.11.6 and workstations with xp are no longer allowed to join, it gives an error that there are many remote connections that can be made , it does so for both domain controllers and file servers with that version of samba -- M.Sc.
