SAMBA share permissions all other known users
...g is working . however in share defination i want to give write permissions to few users and read access to few users. i have mentioned write list and read list in samba config file as follows. this is working but all other known users (domain users) are getting read access . is there any way to restirct the same :( . this problem is eating my head. [shared] comment = Management path = "/shares/Reports" write list = RAJU\bk1234 read list = RAJU\pa7263 directory mask = 0777 Please help me out. Regards Appaji.p

Cut Through DTMF & caller ID on SIP phone
Hi Setup : Asterisk 1.6 on Fedora Core 9 with TE410P.. 1. I;ve noticed that whenever during "background(menu-filename)" method - i try to press any key for selection like 1 for some prompt, 2 for another prompt etc...Asterisk takes a while before it takes me to the respective option..Is that normal behaviour ? by the time the caller waits to listen to the appropriate prompt on selecting

Samba w/ WAN.
hi, I'm going to be setting up Samba with a WAN and VPN. On one end of the network (my end) it will be Samba on a Linux box and some NT and 98 PCs. On the other end of the WAN it will be Windows only. I'd like to know if we need to be able to route anything other than TCP packages. Like NetBIOS or something else Windows may use. Thanks, J.

Hello, In the third party software that we bought, which runs on Solaris 2.8 Server, we use the pam_smb version 1.9.8 to authenticate our users against the NT Domain. Now, our company is migrating from NT Domain to Windows 2000 ADS Domain in native mode. I saw the documention on SAMBA 3.0 (alpha 1-15), and it states that SAMBA 3.0 is compatible with ldap/ADS of Windows 2000. Have you created

samba4wins - all ok but how to use nmblookup from my PDC?
I installed samba4wins on two of my Fedora Core 3 servers (from src rpm), on one PDC (samba 3.0.21c) and on one standalone server without samba, in order to test samba4wins.
