Programcode and data in the same textfile
I have the following problem. It is not of earthshaking importance,
but still I have spent a considerable amount of time thinking about
it.
PROBLEM: Is there any way I can have a single textfile that contains
both
a) data
b) programcode
The program should act on the data, if the textfile is source()'ed
into R.
BOUNDARY CONDITION: I want the data written in the textfile in exactly

returning a modified fix()-ed dataframe
Dear all,
In order to ease the transition from SPSS to R for some of my colleagues, I am
trying to create a function which would show the variables and their labels
(if those exist), using function "label" in package Hmisc.
A toy example would be this:
my.data <- data.frame(age=c(24,35,28), gender=c("Male", "Female", "Male"))
require(Hmisc)

nlme function examples for dose-respone
Hi,
I want to fit nonlinear dose-response curves, as "fun(X,a,b,c)", for
each of our 5 trail locations. Our data basis is something like
location plot year dose response
For each location there are 4 plots as repetitions (over 3 years). So
the interactions "location*year" and "location*plot" should be random
effects.
There are some examples in "Mixed-Effects

producing a graph with glm poisson distributed respons count data and categorical independant variables
Hello,
I am working on my thesis and can't really figure out how to produce a
reasonable graph from the output from my glm.,
I could just give the R-output in my results and then discuss them, but it
would be more interesting if I could visualise what is going on.
My research is how bees react to different fieldmargins, for this I have 4
different types of field margin (A,B,C & D) and

Want to contribute to SAMBA Doc : NT,PDC, Problems, etc...
Hi all,
Like certainly many members of those lists (SAMBA's list), I would like to
contribute to SAMBA project. The main reason is because when you write
something you must absolutely be familiar with the subject. It will give me
oportunity to be (more) familiar with some kinds of SAMBA Spec.
Since I read samba mailling list, many questions are post about SAMBA PDC,
BDC, etc, interaction

issue with rescue_action_in_public! and testing 404 responses
Hello,
I''m new to rails and I''m trying to wrap my heads around how to spec
controllers using RSpec (using rails 3rc1 and rspec 2.0.0.beta.19).
The problem I''ve run into is when I want to test that my controllers respond
with a 404 for unfound records.
Whenever I run the spec, the ActiveRecord::RecordNotFound exception is not
caught by rails, causing the spec

Hello,
I am trying to flash new firmware into a router using TFTP-HPA. I am
running Ubuntu 14.04 on a flash drive and still learning how to use
Linux. I have also installed XINETD.D
In one of the README files that comes with TFTP-HPA it said not to
call it using tptp.
Here are the instructions I'm trying to follow:
cd /tmp ; tftp -gl aa 192.168.0.9; sh aa

Weird extension behavior
Hi, I'm using Asterisk with two Cisco 7960 phones using SIP.
I'm seeing the following weird behavior:
SIP Phome 1 is extension 4002
SIP Phone 2 is extension 4003
I call 4002 from 4003 and that works fine.
I call 4003 from 4002, and it rings locally to 4002, never gets to 4003.
I'm able to send a config query packet to 4003 from the asterisk
console and get a response, when I send

After the 0 respones I had on my previous mail regarding the Cisco 2801, I thought I'd be more general.
Is anybody using Cisco media gateways at all? If so, how is it working for you?

RES: OpenSSH with slow login
I gueess it is not a DNS problem, because either using name or IP, I have
always the problem.
I guess the problem is that I am using ssh on inetd.conf (sshd -i), so It
has to generate a key each time I start a session. What do you think ?

spin, but again the ui doesn''t update.
