Putting all elementes of the list in an enviorment of a function
Hello!
I have two functions.
The first one prepares the arguments for the second one. What is the best
way to put all resoults of the first one into the second one? I tried
attach, however the object in the "main" enviorment have a priority over the
ones in list. An example is at the end.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Forcing ticks in plot for hclust object outside the limits
Hello!
I have the following problem.
I would like to plot the hclust object "hcd" (bellow, at the end of the
mail) with ticks at seq(0.05,0.25,by=0.05). I tried using the code
plot(hcd)
and
plot(hcd,axes=FALSE)
axis(2,seq(0.05,0.25,by=0.05))
In both cases, the resoult is the same, ticks at 0.05 and 0.25 are not
printed. I tried changing the ylim argumet in plot, however I got a warning
"parameter "ylim" couldn't be set in high-level plot() function".
I would like to force those two ticks. Can this be done with axis or plot,
or should...

Calling R from fortran

Because the model actually peroform simulation in time steps of 5

concentration with time resolution close to the model. However, if I
modify the model to output data at every time step, it will be
impossible for the computer to store this much information( the hourly
standard output is close to 1gb). I was wondering if it is possib...

Double FOR
Hi,
I want to run through a formula several times with several different
variables (which are defined by independent vectors of equal length 10
elements). It looks like this:

for (k in s){
for (i in y){
DIC.hat<-sum(-2*((log(1/sqrt(2*pi*s^2))*exp((((y-m[j])/s)^2)/-2))))
}
}
}
DIC.hat

Samba and netbios --- HEEEEELLLP!!!
Wow, ok, whatever the problem is, I'm now pretty convinced that it's over my
head. I am trying to setup samba as the PDC for our network. I cannot for
the life of me get it to work. I went home, tried it on my laptop and it
worked in 15 seconds. I came to work, setup the server exactly the same
and...nothing. "The domain either does not exist or could not be contacted"
blah blah.

That is the default, so doesn't need to be there

This is an AD DC, so you shouldn't have the three lines above.

No, not on a Samba AD DC, idmap.ldb does this on a DC.

sacred under wine/crossover, patch doesnt work
...ion 2.2.8 does not ask for a cd,but when i downloaded and run it, the patch says: "you have no sacred installed on your system, please install sacred underworld before you run this patch"
furthermore: i tried the 2.2.1 nocd patch to run with my 2.2.5 version. finally it started (with some resoultion bugs) but when i start a new campaign, especially creating a new character, it is unplayable: there is just a kind of unicolored screen when they ask me what character is want to create. and when i use an old character, the game loads, but suddenly the screen turns black and i cant do anything a...

CentOS4 laptop touchpad erratic operation
I've just put up CentOS4 on my HP ze4630us laptop, and the
installation produced only two problems of note, both related to X
operations.
1. The installer refused to allow 1024x768 resoultion for the screen.
After install, manually setting the resolution in xorg.conf was no
problem.
2. Erratic touchpad operation. This unit has a synaptic touchpad. I've
also noted similar problems on my previous Gentoo install (also 2.6
kernel and xorg). Never really resolved this. When scrolling...

SUSE 9.1 wine 0.9.12 problem
...d my wine version from 0.9.5 to the newest 0.9.12
and I can't get wine to run.
when I start wine my system hangs,
an wine binary "wine-preloader" eats up all my reasources and just
hangs!
I used the official 9.1 binary rpm from sourcefordge.net
and a build from the wine source but the resoult is the same
wine-preloader just hangs.
The strangest thing is that when I start wine from a console I don't
get eny feedback information the console remains blank.
eny ideas what culd be causing this and a way arround it, or doesn't
wine run on this older suse distro?

I have the exact same problem, and cannot print from a domain
account, but have noticed that if I log into the domain as "root",

Hope this helps somwhat in the resoultion pf this problem.
Other than this problem I can print from both Windows, and
Linux; and the quality is fabulous (using CUPS)

yes, i tryed this:
class 1:1 .... prio 1 <-- web request
class 1:2 .... prio 2 <-- acks
class .....
but with not to mouch resoult.
the logic i came with is: i send prio 1 the web request, but my provider
don''t send it prio 1 too, and/or the result of the request, get into
the provider R2 shaper and get fifo with all the other packets (download
mostly), so i get none gain.

How do I install the DirectX-patch from Transgaming? I run the Wine that
came with Mandrake 7.2. I've tried to run the patches in all the folders

How to access results of survival analysis
Hello,
it seems that the main results of survival analysis with package survival
are shown only as side effects of the print method.
If I compute e.g. a Kaplan-Meier estimate by
> km.survdur<-survfit(s.survdur)
then I can simply print the results by
> km.survdur
Call: survfit(formula = s.survdur)
n events median 0.95LCL 0.95UCL
