[PATCH] Fix request_module/modprobe deadlock in netfront accelerator
There would seem to be a potential deadlock in the netfront accelerator plugin support. When the configured accelerator changes in xenstore, netfront tries to load the new plugin using request_module(). It does this from a workqueue work item. request_module() will invoke modprobe which in some circumstances (I''m not sure exactly what - I''ve not managed to reproduce it myself) seems to try to flush the workqueue, and so it deadlocks. This patch fixes the problem by giving...

Segmentation Fault when using dig, nslookup, host...
..."nslookup", and they all segfault on me. As all these applications suffer from the same problem, I think it has to be a general problem. Name resolution itself works correct, and other than this I cannot find any real indications of problems. On the console I get this message: "request_module[net-pf-10]: fork failed errno 1" When I check /var/log/ksymoops/20040428.log, I see these two lines added: "20040428 091551 start /sbin/modprobe -s -k -- net-pf-10 safemode=1 20040428 091551 probe ended" When doing a strace I get this: "[root at vuurmuur root]# strace nslooku...

Arndale: domU not booting
Dear all, I followed the steps described in the wiki in order to get an Arnadle board running Xen, but I''m having trouble in starting a domU. Let me describe you the steps I followed. Sorry for such a long mail, but I think that a verbose description is necessary so you can point me what I''m doing wrong. I couldn''t boot properly over the network. This is why I

pivot_root problem on RH7.2
Hello, I'm new in ext3. I installed RH7.2 with ext3. For a short time it worked properly, but when I compiled the linux kernel (2.4.9-13) from RH package, the old kernel didn't boot again (I didn't change anything with the old binary). I downloaded kernel 2.4.14 and ext3 patch for this version. After the compilation and installation I rebooted the system. I got answer something

making 0.0.6b a module
I have ext3 0.0.6b + 2.2.19 and cannot get ext3 to compile as a module. If I try to modularize it, or turn in off completely, the kernel build fails. Is there an easy fix for this, or is there something that I am missing? Thanks. Peter
