quasi-random sequences
Dear list useRs,
I have to generate a random set of coordinates (x,y) in [-1 ; 1]^2
for say, N points. At each of these points is drawn a circle (later
on, an ellipse) of random size, as in:

Why still no PKCS#11 ECC key support in OpenSSH ?
Hi,
I was trying to get OpenSSH portable working with my Yubikey.? A key was present on the token but generated using the ECCP384 algorithm.
This lead to many obscure goose-chase red-herring error messages from OpenSSH such as the delightful "Could not add card : agent refused operation" or other nonsense that was meaningless and unhelpful.
Many hours later in Mr Google's company,

Syntax coloring in R console
Dear all,
I am a happy user of R console, but I would like to see syntax
coloring. I use R 2.12 in Ubuntu Linux.
I have found the packages "xterm256" and "highlight", but I was not
able to figure out how to use it to highlight the syntax in console
output.
Also, I tried several GUI interfaces, but I was not able to find
something that suits me better than the default R

PGLMM in Picante Question
Hi Guys,
Using the PGLMM function in Picante it is theoretically possible to
generate other models (than the 5 flagged ones indicated) by
differently structuring the independent variable (Y), dependent
variables (X), and covariance matrices (VV). I was wondering anyone
could give me some advice (or code) for generating a model that
includes the phylogenetic repulsion model (3) with the traits

Upgrading AAH
All - I've a new system, that since it's been in production, has seen a
few issues, that look like they should be fixed by upgrading asterisk @
home to the latest version. I was curious if anybody out there can tell
me their experiences with this, and what to expect.
Thanks,

Meridian S1 to Asterisk via T1
I have to connect a Meridian S1 to Asterisk for a slow migration to VoIP.
What is the best way to connect them?
1. Is a T1 the best solution?
2. Can I pass Caller and Callee information across the link?
If a T1 is best, I recall a standalone T1-SIP device a year ago on this
list. Does anyone recall what the device was? How well it works?
Thanks,
MD

[fdo] Code of Conduct questions
Hi,
I've cross-posted this to freedesktop@, as the xdg@ list is only used
for actual specification development.

[LLVMdev] Named metadata to represent language specific logic
...validation that would convert all
those annotations into another, lower, IR, coding front-ends would be
much simpler.
That would also allow back-ends to understand those named metadata and
possibly generate correct code without the necessity of the final
pass, but I gather that some people find it repulsing to have metadata
with meaning in IR, so I won't go as far as to suggest that... ;)
Some examples below. Don't pay too much attention to the syntax or the
contents, I'm just brainstorming...

Flac and OggFlac
HI all,
I have already added FLAC support to libsndfile and I am now
working on adding support for OggFLAC. I have a couple of
question about things that seem radically different between
regular FLAC and OggFLAC.
1) FLAC has a function:
FLAC__seekable_stream_decoder_get_decode_position
but there seems to be no corresponding function:

Why should I answer a Newbie question, there thick!
It would be nice just for once to actually use a mailing list with people
who are a little more sympathetic to the fact that your not a rocket
scentist or molecular biologist and that you might actually need some
help,
without being made to feel like your completely useless and should be
cleaning toilets for a living.
