I've setup a local yum repository for about 25 workstations and I'm using rsync from a local mirror. Do I need to create my own XML headers, i.e. the 'repodata' directory, or since I'm syncing the whole updates directory can I use the 'repodata' directory from the mirror? Yesterday I pulled down a major update to OpenOffice. But no updates to repodata. I waited a day to see if there was some reason for the lag (like more rpms needed to complete the set), but still today, no repodata to pull down (my rsync looks for more recent file dates). Help?

I'm seeing the updates for 5.4 roll out (per Karanbir's tweet on October 26), but there haven't been any updates to the repodata, thus, yum isn't seeing the updates. Is this on purpose? Maybe I've just not noticed this before, if this is standard update roll-out procedure. Thanks, Kevin
